Jordan Pope is really good!

Thornton is pretty battle-ready too.

And I like that both of them have two years eligibility after this season.

I haven’t seen a single Oregon St game this year. But, Thornton, love him. Most competitive kid on the floor in every game he plays in.

I know that the PAC-12 kinda sux and the assist totals are kinda low, but still...Jordan Pope Stats:

If you have sometime YouTube his game vs Arizona this year… it’s crazy lol. Definitely a guard who can get his own shot at will

Names I’ve seen floated around are Jordan pope, Bruce Thornton, and the youngest Blackmon. And that we’ll be targeting a shot blocker

If you can get Thornton (ties to Yasir), one of Blackmon(legacy connection)/Pope, and a shooter like Luke Goode (legacy connection).....you're in pretty good shape. Would need to add front court depth as well.

And if you can get Reneau, Galloway, MM, and Cupps on board with Liam sticking to his commitment, the only thing in your way next year is the head coach. That's a whole different story though.

Do any of these guys fit the "future NBA guy" Mike Woodson profile?  I don't see him even considering them.

As the resident Oregon St grad, things have not went well for the Beavers this season (yeah both of my teams sucked this year), but I will say Pope can put defenders on skates. He is only 6'2", but is their best player and is capable of dropping a lot of points in a game (30 against Stanford). I haven't watched enough to get a good read on his defense, west coast games and early mornings don't really work for me.

And after dropping all of our marquee nonconference games next season:

"Honestly man, we had no idea Xavier Johnson would graduate. Totally blindsided us that he had been in college for 6 years. To lose his production and experience so suddenly and unexpectedly was devastating."

"That's why I'd like to introduce my new Director of Player Eligibility, Mr. Kenny Payne."

So, you have to bring the negativity into this thread too?

There's a thread dedicated to only positive posts. You might be happiest there.

In fairness, this is meant to be a "news" thread, not a "dump on everything" thread. We've got a few of those already and would like to keep this one and others like it as informational as possible.

Fairleigh Dickinson’s Sean Moore entered the transfer portal this morning as a grad transfer. The 6’5” forward averaged 11.9 points on 40% shooting, 7.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.0 steals. Scored 19 points in FDU’s upset of 1 seeded Purdue last March.

Hard pass from Woodson.  He wasn't a top 30 prospect coming out of high school.

On3 lists Michale Adams Jr from BYU as a transfer portal entry but I can't find any story on him.

He originally committed to Kansas for the 2023-24 season, then decommitted and committed to Gonzaga in the summer of 2023.  Decommitted from Gonzaga a month later then committed to BYU.  Was not initially given eligibility by the NCAA for this season but challenged the decision and was given eligibility on December 15th, 2023.  Played in one game about a week later.  I believe he then was injured (saw somewhere that he was listed as injured) and didn't play the rest of this season.

247 still not listing him as in the portal, so trying to look it up elsewhere.  Certainly has some questions as he has committed to more school than games he's played.  But he is talented...was the 51st ranked 2023 recruit and 9th rated small forward.  IU did recruit him when he was in high school.
