Jordan Hulls just started following 6'9" Oklahoma portal entry small forward Jacob Groves on Instagram.

Had a great tournament for Eastern Washington a few years ago, and shot it well with limited attempts while starting about 2/3 of Oklahoma's games last year.

Stay tuned on this one:

certainly not a swing for the fences.

Definitely not a natural ability swing for the fences. He's a playable 22 year old that's good on catch and shoot and with a high culture/leadership element. OU Coach Moser on Groves:

“Every single day at practice, he brings it,” Moser said. “Every day he communicates. Every day, he’s putting in his time on his shot. He’s an everyday guy. That’s the difference between him and a lot of guys in this generation. It’s every day. Some guys get all fired up and it’s like a New Year’s resolution. People like my age are in the gym for a little bit and then they taper off. Jacob has been every single day.

“Every day, he’s on his prep. He’s getting his shots up. He’s on his nutrition. Success is paying off for him because he is every day. The word I think for Jacob is it’s been ‘consistent’ for him.”

Not sure how legit this is, but just sharing what I saw. Posted within the last 20 min. Don’t know if the pic of him wearing the IU gear is old, photoshopped, recent and real, don’t know. Just passing along. Maybe others have more info about it.

If any hadn’t heard the very first Rosemond podcast when he was hired by IU  with HH I would highly recommend it.  He doesn’t hide from what happened and told his side of the story.  I comes down to if you believe it or not.   just having his name mentioned with the FBI is enough for people to never give someone the benefit of the doubt or second chance.    Others might look at it and conclude that he didn’t get hit with a show cause and the school at the time found he did nothing wrong after internal investigation(although I can see skepticism with Bama being that school).   In my opinion clearly did their due diligence and background checks before they would on the hire.     I know listening to him he is very grateful to woody for the second chance.   Personally I was on the fence at the beginning but after listening and reading up on the stuff on my own I decided to give him a chance.   Glad I did because he has been a great addition to IU

I'm guessing that you, as much as anyone, have seen Jacob Groves play many, many times.

Let's assume he's a guaranteed positive locker room presence. Can he also be an on-court piece?

I can imagine if social media/cell phones existed when some of us were in school - we’d be pariahs . . .

I think so but won’t be the focal point.    Has size and can shoot the ball.    Not a physical player and if I’m remembering not that good of rebounder but if he is willing to play a role then yes he would be a good piece.

From what I saw of his videos looked a lot like Miller Kopp.  Taller than Kopp but pretty skinny.

Happy Tuesday of little 5 week. I've heard our town will get all kinds of visitors for the greatest college weekend and one of them might be a basketball recruit. But that has not been confirmed.

Just wondering if there are any Ivy Leaguers of interest who might make a proclamation prior to little 5.

Sounds like he'd be a good off the bench change-up for Reneau at the 4, possibly?

Johnson- Cupps

? -  Galloway

Ledlum? - Banks

Reneau- Groves?

Ware- Sparks

Groves isn't really a 4 despite his 6'9" height. Banks is more of a 4 than Groves is.

A little late to the discussion but this dichotomy was discussed in depth on a podcast I was recently listening to.

Perspective 1: If you love the institution you won't criticize
Perspective 2: You criticize because you love the institution and what it could/should be

All of us here love IU basketball but have different perspectives. Issues arise when one perspective isn't tolerant of the other. I have inside information this won't change and if it does this platform will become extremely boring.

who was complaining about cheaters?

But no, that isn't the only ones who complain about cheaters. I have people with As that aren't happy about fellow students who cheat. They are "getting it done" (your words) and still aren't happy.

Who is the best, btw? Kansas and Duke? Surprisingly I don't hear much about them complaining about cheating. Odd. Wonder why?

That was my point? I remember a few years back when Cal wasn't getting it done at the previously high level he had before and started complaining about Dook. I wonder why?

You can't control what fellow students are or aren't doing. You can control the effort you put in and the results you get. The student who understands and applies it will be much better off regardless of the grade they receive which is another conversation we could have.

No one complained... was the my point.  Pointing out that the sweat bomb that coaches at XU is a cheater isn't complaining.. its fact.

Today is Tuesday in Indiana. Stating that doesn't mean I'm complaining that it isn't Wednesday.
