He’s 6’4”. He’s not a great defender but he seems to compete. It’s not like our current crop of guards were all that great on defense this year.

Assuming he progresses as a sophomore he’d probably be an upgrade over a guy like Kopp. Kopp averaged about 2 two-pointers and 4 three-pointers attempted a game, whereas essigien average splits of 4/5.5 attempts a game. In other words, he’s a true shooter looking to find ways to get his shot.

They kind of trashed him in the paper up her over his shooting slump, but other than that I’m not sure why he’d leave. He obviously got tons of PT .

Seems that Gard may not be popular among players. I remember the story that came out a year or 2 ago where this was an issue.

Maybe it went away because winning cures everything, well now they stopped winning.

That was somewhat true but also involved a disgruntled former player/assistant and centered around a comment that was “insensitive.”

Nobody really transferred after that. and Essegien was recruited after that.

With that said, I’m not a Gard fan and he seems like he’s annoying. So I’m all for a native Hoosier returning home!

Connor would be a huge, huge addition. 13p 4r and was on the All FR team? Sign me up.

Didn't they have a player or two leave? I thought one ended up at O$U or maybe a player went from O$U to Wiscy.

He didn't even have to like a post. We had him in candy stripes from someone saying something about a good freshman wanting to transfer to IU.

FWIW, the "Indiana Sports Partizen" has subsequently posted in a way that makes it clear he was talking about Essegian.
