NCAA MBB Transfer Portal

Recommended Posts

A few hundred K less as Travis Perry enters the portal. Kid needs to find a system that runs him off screens and creates looks for him. May need to level down.

Geez. This is kinda the anti-Gabe Cupps move where he leaves the home state school. Tough look, but likely best for all parties on the court.

Good stuff. I had a UK fan tell me the other day that he was proud to root for a program full of guys who play for the name on the front of their jersey, and that Wilkerson wouldn't have been a good fit there.

For what it’s worth, I think that number is way high.  I’d guess they’re $11-12M after reading a bunch of other sources/estimates.

However, your point about the salty UK fan being a hypocrite stands.  Everyone pays their players.  And it’s also not the end of the world that they do.

If UK wasn’t paying their players so it was all for the name on the front of their jersey, they would have a team of Ollie’s that would win five games and make Crean’s ‘08-09 squad look like the Dream Team.

Level down?  Western Kentucky?  Eastern Kentucky?  Murray St.?  Or Crappensburg St.?

Vince Iwuchukwu yet another former IU offer.

I truly appreciate many of you posting these links but it would really be helpful if you could just add the name of who the link is about.  Please humor an Old Fart.  Thank you.

Sun Belt kind of thing would probably make sense. For all the stuff Pope got right he misused that kid. He's not a PG. He's an undersized not very athletic shooter who needs help to get clean. If you're gonna play him as a distributor and have him defend on the ball a lot I'm not sure why you're recruiting him. He's not a less good Braden Smith, he's a less good Steve Alford.

The former IU offers just can't stop portalin'.

LSU guard Curtis Givens has entered the NCAA transfer portal, @PeteNakos_ reports. The freshman averaged 4.8 points per game last season.

Interesting, Givens and Robert Miller put out a video together at the end of the year hyping that they were running it back. Now apparently they're both leaving, though I don't think Miller has announced officially.

Think of all the stuff UNC, KU, LSU, Duke, etc got away with while Fordham is in trouble for below.  The NCAA is a joke.

For instance, on eight occasions the team paid for recruits to enjoy various activities that exceeded the NCAA’s $75 per day limit on entertainment spending. These activities included trips for players and their parents to see the New York Giants, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and U.S. Open sporting events. Lesser violations included paid outings at bowling alleys and an instance in which the team rented jet skis for a recruit. All together, the cost of these various impermissible benefits added up to an approximate total of $10,736.

Ha.  Absurd.

As Jerry Tarkanian said, "The NCAA is so mad at Kentucky that they're going to give Cleveland State two more years probation.”

By all means, kick the hell out of Fordham over 10k. That’ll scare everybody. Meanwhile, Rob Wright leaving Baylor after he said he wasn’t and committing 3 days later to BYU for 3.5 mil is just the new reality, huh? I swear to God.

They screwed up by not finding a way to have NIL pay for those things.
