RaceToTheTop Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 Low major to look out for possible major improvement next year might be Austin Peay. 9-22 this year, hired Northwestern State's coach. Been there just three days I believe and already brought in his old team's best player DeMarcus Sharp as well as Quinnipiac's best player, Dezi Jones. Quote

In the scenario where IU has another out-transfer or two, I can see the fit as a 6th man microwave shooter who can play backup PG. A little on the small side for what IU wants to do on defense. Not sure this fanbases obsession with height, but I'd take him. We need another ball handler and shooter. Could play next to Johnson because he can work off ball. Could be be any worse a defender then Hulls was? A team defense should be able to hide that. Question would be whether he could play man to man after playing zone for so long. woodenshoemanHoosierfan and BGleas 2 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 Who is gonna be the lucky one to snag Evbuomwan from Princeton? This Furst smoke is interesting but pretty hard to believe. I liked Furst from HS. Smart player. Can offer more. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners MemphisHoosier 1 Quote
ap2345 Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 I’m not buying the Furst rumors. I’ve heard a couple other Purdue players are headed to the portal. Quote

The logical choices to leave Purdue are Newman, Furst, and Trey Kaufman. I’m not much of a fan of Newman at all. Talented enough but game doesn’t seem to really click for him. Furst is pretty active and quite good. I feel like in the right situation as the five he could be a winning player. Kaufman is interesting to me also. He’s only had one year of college ball and his size and outside shot form are intriguing. However, he was mediocre at best his freshman year. I could wrap my brain around either of their big guys. No one really fits that description yet. There are others who will enter the portal who fit that description. Some that fit that description are based on projections by the IU staff and may not make you happy at first. But they do fit that description. so I guess my take away is that if you’re looking for a 15 and eight young athlete, so is the NBA. That’s not who is going into the portal. Now if you’re looking for a talented player whose current situation hasn’t worked out and hasn’t been getting enough playing time? thebigweave, lillurk, NVFalcons1990 and 2 others 5 Quote
