In the comment thread to this, I stated that this was just a rumor some others were passing around and I had zero proof it was real. I have ZERO intel on anything going on right now. This is being played tighter than the Romeo recruitment, which I did get intel on just a few days prior. 

But if you think about it rationally, no news is good news. There are going to be a lot of really good coaches in Indy over the next few weeks. Dolson and BOTs will reach out with feelers about right now, and try to get some meetings when they are in town. If something materialized then Archie will be let go. If nothing materializes then Archie is the plan F. 

Meanwhile though, we will all be checking these threads 10x per day and toxicity will go overboard.

Has there been any update on that Reddit thread where the "insider" claims there will be a press conference?

That is what I was getting ready to say. That dude is 3 for 3. Small sample size but still. He even called the exact time Leal would commit.

His reddit name is IUBBInsider. He posted yesterday that there would be a press conference today. His source is someone "intimate with the administration". His track record is credible too.

I think we need to remember it's going to take some time. We can go get Matta or Beilein tomorrow but we really need to do our homework to see if there is someone better out there and that is going to take some time.

So you think if we do our homework to find someone better, will it for sure ultimately result in Archie being gone, or will Archie remain if certain targets aren’t interested? I didn’t know if it’d be a matter of him returning if we don’t hit our target, or will we just go down the list and it be someone other than Archie regardless.

This...100%. That is why I'm not worried about if there isn't a presser today. If Archie Miller is truly safe, if I were him I would be pissed my boss didn't back me up (not that he deserves it) when almost everyone wants me out.

The way I take it is, once Dolson has found who he wants, take it back to the trustees and we get things rolling.

As long as he ends up fired and we don’t screw up the next coach I’ll be happy. If we really could get Matta or Beilein (even though I don’t really want Beilein) then we need to fire Archie even if we strike out on our other candidates. Both would be improvements.

Can we really go get them? Or is that just comparative expression? Either way I’m not mad if either is on SD’s short list.

I think if we were let in Assembly Hall right now we would find that Archie Miller doesn't have anything left in his office. Maybe he cleaned it for the NCAA tourney & doesn't trust Sampson coming back but I don't think that is the case.
