Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app I don’t base a coach’s evaluation on cherry-picked parts of his team’s worst games. Archie’s teams do hustle and the defense has been fine. They can’t shoot. The shots are there, but they don’t go in. That’s it. That’s the whole problem plaguing this program right now. If they had two guys who could reliably shoot they’d be a top 15 team. Yes, it is on the coach to get the shooters in the door, and like I said, if Archie can’t do that next year given the obviously gaping hole on this team then he isn’t the guy. But if he can, which he should hopefully be able to do because shooters are littered throughout the country, then when coupled with what has already been installed he may just have a competitive team going forward. wirenuts, IUc2016, Jeff_Boy_Ardee and 7 others 10 Quote

Shooters won’t fix an offensive system that isn’t good to begin with. We are for what we expecting a guy who has never coached a good offense, to suddenly coach a good offense. It’s not going to happen. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Ed Orgeron says hi. I’m done repeating myself on this. The team moves the ball well in the half court, much better than Crean’s teams did, and the sets do open up shots. They don’t go in, plain and simple. Coach O brought in a guy named Joe Brady to be the passing game coordinator. That’s what changed for LSU. That’s who made Joe Burrow into the Joe Burrow we saw. Is Archie going to bring in a guy to be the offensive coach? No. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Iugradman 1 Quote

Popular Post BGleas Posted January 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted January 16, 2020 Is an offensive specialist going to make wide open shots go in? This was not an effort loss, we just held a team to 59 points and outrebounded them, if wasn’t effort. We had some bad turnovers from the usual suspects and didn’t make a shot outside the paint until there were 5 minutes left in the game. We lost because nobody could shoot. Most of the perimeter shots missed were completely wide open. HoosierDYT, thebigweave, cchuntsman and 6 others 9 Quote

Something we haven’t seen under Archie.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
southernindianahoosier2 Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 I didn’t watch the game, but I expected this outcomeMaybe Archie is better at half court offense than Crean, but transition O, and shooters are a big issue, so it doesn’t matter if he has the recipe, he doesn’t have the ingredients and hasn’t shown he can develop players.Honestly at this point it seems to be a lateral move from Crean. I thought Schilling was one of the best player development guys? May be this is on the players. All during Crean’s tenure everyone wanted to say he had nothing to do with guys getting better, it was all the players work ethic, now many of those same people want to blame Archie for guys like Green, Smith and Durham not getting better (which isn’t really true, as much as Green and Durham frustrate me, they have improved). This loss was 100% on the players. Their effort was good and we played hard, but at some point a power 5 basketball player has to sack up and make a shot. The offense, while definitely limited because of our personnel, got a ton of wide open shots tonight. At some point guys have to make them, Archie can’t shoot them for them. We are paying Archie too much money to just be a defensive coach. And the defense isn’t even that good. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
