These are the teams you would want to win the tourneys. If anyone besides these teams win then some bids could be stolen. Boise State is also kind of bubblish, aren't they or do you think they need to win the MWC tourney to make it? Anyway, Lunardi has IU as one of the last four byes as of this morning, ahead of five teams (Ohio State, Georgia, Arkansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma....he has Boise State, Xavier, UNC, Texas, Wake Forest, SMU, Cincinnati, and Villanova as first eight out). Indiana should move ahead of Nebraska in NET now. Nebraska was at 54 and just took a Q3 home loss to Minnesota while IU had a road Q2 win. A couple of positive developments: after all the evening games finished, IU moved even further. Now 44 on Pom and 52 on Torvik. hoosierdogg, HoosierHoopster, Dave from Dayton and 1 other 3 1 Quote

Yeah they are definitely right on the bubble. They have to beat some of the other top MWC teams in their tourney and avoid a bad loss. Almost lost last night Quote

Shooter Posted March 3, 2025 Posted March 3, 2025 With (at least) three games left to play, how are people feeling about our chances? Win 3 or more games - definitely in, and not in the First Four. Win 2 more games in any combination - we are in. Probably safe from the First Four in Dayton, unless both of those wins are in the BTT. Win 1 game - if that win is at Oregon or vs Ohio State, probably in. First Four is a possibility. If the only win is in BTT (would be quad 2 in this scenario), we're right on the edge of the bubble. Zero more wins - probably out. Jeff Flabjohns 1 Quote
Demo Posted March 3, 2025 Posted March 3, 2025 https://x.com/DelphiBrackets/status/1896609851285164427 Delphi’s latest. IU an 11 but not in Dayton. Go ahead and put a beating on Oregon and put an end to the suspense. Dave from Dayton and Hoosierfan1901 2 Quote

HoosierHoopster Posted March 3, 2025 Posted March 3, 2025 I think we're on the bubble but maybe in with 19 W's (with heartburn) but 20 W's should get us in, 11-13 range or so. I'll trust in @Uspshoosier's estimation on that though Dave from Dayton and Uspshoosier 2 Quote

I know it's hypothetical but if we would win our first game we could face kentucky in the 2nd round. They always find a way for us to meet. lillurk, OliviaPope40, Uspshoosier and 1 other 4 Quote

Uspshoosier Posted March 5, 2025 Author Posted March 5, 2025 IU loss won’t knock them out of the tourney however they had a chance to lock up an at-large tonight. If they win Saturday that should be enough if they were to lose in the B1G tourney. Would definitely have to worry about a bunch of bid stealers though. HoosierHoopster Posted March 5, 2025 Posted March 5, 2025 Figured this game for a L. Really should win the next one. The lineup change is now better scouted though, that’s starting to show Quote

Before when we played two bigs, couldn’t get out to shooters, and one ball reversal led to a rotation breakdown, teams got easy shots and didn’t need to hunt our weaker defenders. Now that we play small and gallows and leal play more, our team defense seems shored up quite a bit. That seems to be leading to coaches hunting Goode and Mbako more. I’d expect a bunch of ball screens until osu gets Thornton gets isolated versus those two or one of their bigger guys can push Goode to the post. Not an easy game. Have to wonder if we still have a path if we lose to OSU. HoosierHoopster 1 Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted March 5, 2025 Posted March 5, 2025 Against Washington, Ballo and Reneau were never on the court together. Against Oregon yesterday, they played 17 minutes together. cybergates 1 Quote

Against Oregon yesterday, they played 17 minutes together. Yeah. Noticed that. Mixed results on both offense and defense. Trying to get some rebounds. Ballo got his. Some got away from him. Actually, thought there were a few minutes in the middle of the 2nd half against Washington...IU momentum dropped and we lost six points, maybe 8 point run by Washington. Thought that started with our two bigs in the middle for 3 minutes or so. I'm probably misremembering. Last night, too many long rebounds went to Oregon. The fouling was because Oregon was quicker and we were desperate to stop them. I was surprised the whole game...thought Oregon would break it open the whole time. The end game was...uh...not good. And who gives the propaganda about Woody to the announcers? Woody's stare has improved in four years. Quote
