Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners I also believe that is part of the connection. I think he knows him and the family personally. Not objective anymore. It's the same thing when little timmy is the best player on the soccer team in Mom and Dad's eyes. Also could be a window into concerns about protecting playing time as we were all beginning to discuss last night. Edited April 16, 2020 by WayneFleekHoosier mdn82 and HoosierRobbie 2 Quote

I've been watching a ton of his and a few other recruits footage while on lockdown and have become super high on this kid..enough so that it was one of the reasons i stopped lurking around the forum. (and that SS' post is bonkers on so many levels..) I found a few clips of full unedited EYBL games where he played man to man for some stretches. I know it's AAU ball but I was relatively impressed. I don't know how relevant it is because it seems like these wing defenders are left on an island during every PnR. He seemed to generally have good awareness, anticipation and effort. He's definitely going to be very switchable. He seemed to fall back on his length, frame & athleticism to bail him out if he was out of position & recovering..and sometimes it worked. If / when he learns how to partner that physicality with strong fundamentals & good use of angles, he could be a D monster. 1 of the reasons I like him so much is how he translates so well to Archie's defensive schemes. His length & athleticism should make him elite at closing out, cutting off drives & help D, plus he's a great rebounder (HS stats are inflated but he showed he can snag during AAU). Dude, if f you were able to find unedited EYBL games, you are officially my hero. Spent a couple weeks last year on a quest for RJ Davis and Matt Cross games and found exactly nothin’. I agree that Mohammed’s physical traits align with what Archie’s teaching. He’s physical enough to fight over screens. He’s long enough and quick enough laterally to easily shade the lane and recover. And, yeah, he would probably be as switchable as anyone on the roster other than maybe Geronimo. I worry some, at least early on, about his eye discipline and how quickly he would process what he sees. Can see him getting lost in some continuity actions or reacting late to certain plays and giving up some good looks. But that’s freshman repetition stuff. The kid’s got a great tool kit and he really competes. Unless he just has processing issues, the way Justin Smith does offensively, I’d be pretty surprised if he was any kind of defensive problem. There is an account on YouTube that uploaded all the Gauntlet and EYBL twitch streams. Lemme try and track it down. There are also a handful of long clips like this that have more than 1 game in them despite the video title. Boo Williams plays AOT Rebels around 1:45 mark. Full game footage if you can stomach the quality / angles. mdn82 and HoosierAloha 2 Quote
