CrossboneIU22 Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Now that the 2018-2019 season is finally behind us, we can look forward to the 2019-2020 season. We know we are losing Morgan and Fitzner from scholarship. Also walkons McRoberts, Jager, and Taylor. We have already aquired one Pre-ferred walk-on for next season. What else will we see? Will there be any other scholarships open up? Hoping this thread can be used for all the off season roster news, moves and rumors to help keep things more organized and easy to find and follow. CrossboneIU22 Posted March 27, 2019 Author Posted March 27, 2019 What Transfers might we be after? I would like to see us go after the Brunk kid from Butler. As others have said, we need a dead eye shooter. However, how many scholarships will we even have available? Morgan and Fitzner out, TJD and Franklin in Until we hear otherwise, only speculation remain on any other open scholarships. The most likely an opening being Langford declaring for the draft. could see anywhere from 0 - 4 more. Quote
Alford Bailey Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Hoping to turnover several spots. May not happen though. Needs shooters and hoping to switch out Race, Clifton or Jake for a serviceable big. RaceToTheTop and mookied39 1 1 Quote

mdn82 Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 It’s way too early to give up on race and JakeYeah I think Race can be a real good upperclassmen. The speed is just fast right now for him. Once that settles he doesn’t look awkward moving around like Fitzner did. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app MikeRoberts 1 Quote
Hovadipo Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Including Romeo (no other names), I’m seeing up to 4 spots opening. sabaka, thebigweave and JaybobHoosier 3 Quote
Alford Bailey Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Getting Brunk probably means we dont get a big who can score down low. He probably gets minutes over Moore, Thompson and Forester though. Cant see those three as much more than role players off the bench. Quote
Alford Bailey Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Gotta think IF Brunk comes it means someone moves on. JaybobHoosier 1 Quote

Beachfront Property Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 If Clifton transfers - it is hard to blame him. He needs to go somewhere he can get minutes to fulfill his potential. No inside information but I put the chances of him transferring over 80%. Romeo will go pro - so we have two spots.I hope Forrester and Race stay. Str8Hoosiers, Kepner and Crimson and Cream 3 Quote

8bucks Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 If I were a parent of many of the kids who didn’t play or played out of position I might be inclined to encourage them to transfer. Why stay? I mean we as fans stay but if you did not grow up an IU fan and you don’t fit the rotation then I see reasons to move on. I can even understand smiths complaints. If the coaches wanted him to work on stuff so he could play major minutes as a 4 that would limit his practice time working on wing things like ball handling and shooting. It takes a special kid to play out of position and excel at that. That could explain why Morgan played so lackadaisical so often as well. Not saying Morgan and Smith aren’t special but I can understand being frustrated with how things are playing out. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners JaybobHoosier 1 Quote

I mean if he just wants an IU education that's cool, but as far as playing time he's not likely to get that during his time here. Kepner 1 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBannersYeah, I mean Smith could get in the gym and get shots up and work on his ball handling skills. There are plenty of team managers who are with the program to rebound for players at all hours of the day. I’d hope if Smith wanted to be a wing he’d be busting his @$$ to prove that he was worthy of getting minutes there. I know nothing was ever given to me and when someone said I couldn’t that was just all the more ammo for me to prove them wrong. I guess he could just vent to the media about how he was wronged though. Give me the kid that’s willing to prove it over talking about it. We need DAWGS. Beachfront Property Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 The transfer market is going to be really strong. We need to find two very important pieces. Alford Bailey 1 Quote
