That’s hardly all I do. But kid is too passive. People are feeling bad for him for choosing us but his play is a big part of our struggles

And that, IMO, is your issue....your interpretation of how you feel others think of him to go farther than necessary in criticism of him.

"Feeling bad for him"?  Really?  Kid is going to be a millionaire at 19....why would we feel bad for him?

Looking at the schedule, I just don't see how we get anymore than 17 wins.
Scary, really.
Where do you see 5 more wins? We would have to finish 5-7 an I dont see us winning any road games including rutgers. The next three games could easily all be losses.

Based on what an insider shared with me in March of 2015, Donovan had interest at the time, but Glass didn't want to pull the trigger because of his affection for Crean.

I try not to think about it.

Guy going from Championships at UF to the NBA... a stop at IU just doesn’t fit in the narrative. Made a mini-dynasty out of nothing. Why Indiana? I just don’t believe any of the “we had X coach but Y” stuff to be honest.

One person made up that narrative and other’s plagiarized it. There’s absolutely zero truth to it. Glass had a blank check and it wouldn’t have been his decision anyway. Glass reached out Donovan’s agent and they said no thanks.

Respectfully disagree. While the hype train might have gotten ahold of it and made it seem like a “dome deal” very prematurely, more than one person connected to the program has recognized that Donovan had interest. To the point where financials were discussed. I’m sure others on the board can cooberate.

I got rooked into joining an IU basketball page on Facebook. Someone just wrote a Dear Fred Glass, you suck kinda post.
But he went on to say we had Donovan, but Fred was too cheap to pony up for his assistants. Anybody ever hear anything like that?
For one, I'm not convinced he would've been the right person for us. For two, I have a hard time believing at this point in his career, he'd have any interest in going back to a college program.

Biggest mistake is believing something you read on Facebook. Not attacking you at all, but that place is a cesspool

Yes it really is. Those Facebook fan pages are absolutely the worst thing I have encountered as a fan of the game. Cheeks, you need to get outta that post haste. Brother, there’s only two posts....People who complain about play, and (more annoying) people who complain about people complaining. There’s literally nothing else. Test my theory if you want, but don’t say I didn’t warn you. I used to say that Facebook fan pages brought out the worst in fans, but really, it just brings out the worst people period. Get out.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. I remember watching Archie play at NC St. The guy was a bullldog and didn’t back down from anyone.

I have to, well want to, believe he is going to get kids in that reflect that trait. I don’t know why he’s unable to rub off on this current group.

Donovan had serious cold feet about the NBA (see his two days as head coach of the Orlando Magic). He was open about missing many aspects of the college game and building a program. A blue blood offer (at the time) was something he very much considered if the program would have valued him as highly as his agents felt he should have been.

Archie says he’s looking forward to playing Michigan in a good atmosphere. I’m not sure he understands just how nasty that crowd is going to be. Someone might want to warn him. Perhaps Joani Crean?
He had a good atmosphere vs nebraska and got run out of the building so i dont think that makes a bit of difference with this team.

I don't participate. I just read it for entertainment purposes. And about 90 percent is people ready to declare us NCAA champs after a win or lynch Archie or some player -- or themselves -- after a loss. I just had never heard or read the rumor that Donovan was a no-go because of financials. I don't necessarily believe it; I was just curious about that particular narrative.

I left one last week. I thought people were going to show up at my door with torches and pitchforks when I complained about Rob being out for so long.

I’m not excited . I called this loss and predicted a Michigan win after we got hammered by Purdue. I still feel we win the Michigan game.
