Used rules to his advantage, such as perks of the 'basketball dorm'? Sure. But thr NCAA allows it.World Wide Wes, runners, Nike, AAU connections. It’s been a master class in how to navigate the “rules”. He’s smart enough (I think) to let others do his talking and negotiating so he won’t be caught on a wiretap discussing payments but I wouldn’t be surprised if Orlando Antigua and others did these sort of things. He’s made statements saying they can go in at the last minute to snag a recruit if they want. I'm a big ASU fan as well, and boy was it nice to be on the other side of a Crean classic. Really baffling stuff down the stretch. Down 1 with 8 seconds left, they called a bizarre timeout at 3/4 court. The inbound angle was awkward as a result and kid turned it over. ASU made 1 FT to go up 2, Crean calls timeout. Then the final possession ends up being a 6'11 dude trying to go the length of the court... Needless to say that didn't work out. IU09, Hutch89, WayneFleekHoosier and 4 others 5 2 Quote

Hoosierfan2017 Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 I wouldn't have minded Calipari. I wouldn't have liked the revolving door of players, but he has been to the final four 4 times over the past 9 years and won a title.. I like the kind of program Archie is building better than the Calipari model, though. Hopefully he can get us back to a final four sometime soon. Quote

JSHoosier Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Feels like we've seen the "blow a big lead" episode of the Tom Crean Show before.... I had/have questions about Miller, but I do think he's better than Crean. Granted that is a low standard. Quote

Recruiting, talent development, game planning, in game adjustments, etc etc. While I wonder at times, as all fans do, about Archie's decisions at times. I can't say that I believe there is one area that Crean was superior in. Crean had gone as high as he was going to go, imo. Good luck to him at Ga. I'm glad we have the coach we do. southernindianahoosier2 and Deserthoozier 2 Quote
