Because I love IU and I love IU basketball. It's different when I like a team or a player. I have a vested interest in the outcome of the game. I just don't enjoy college basketball enough to sit down and watch a game between two teams I don't care about.

I love the tournament. Talent level in the NBA is way better, but if you could argue every game is a Game 7 in the tourney. Fun times. Don’t get why people constantly make NBA versus NCAA arguments. They’re completely different. Great and bad for different reasons.

I'm not. Just don't really enjoy it. I would much rather watch an NBA game. Outside of IU games I probably watch a max of 5 college games a year. It's been hard for me to get into the tournament without having my team to root for.

I'm actually the exact same. I think college basketball for the most part is of pretty poor quality when it comes to actual basketball talent. The NBA is the most entertaining sports league to watch for me, the guys at the top of the sport are so insanely skilled it is a marvel to watch every night.

My only two exceptions are the conference tourneys and NCAA tournament. Otherwise I don't really watch outside of IU playing

I definitely get the talent discussion. If we were just watching for the talent aspect of it there is no comparison. I definitely don’t watch it for that reason. The pure madness of a team like Loyola elevating their play to make a final four. Butler and Wichita St of the world becoming a household name just from different tournament runs. In the NBA there are very few upsets. Most years you have one maybe two teams that can win a title. The quality is fantastic so I watch both. But definitely not for the same reasons while enjoying both.

The talent issue is unquestioned. The NBA is so full of marquee players and talent that it’s breath taking to watch. That’s why those players are the best in the world. But I don’t understand the NCAA vs NBA argument either. Both are really fun to watch. More basketball means more fun

The NBA game itself isn't good. I get that the 24 second shot clock makes for a lot of one on one. But watching the Cavs is just awful entertainment. Pacers, Spurs, Warriors, Rockets.. those teams share the ball. Cavs, Thunder, horrible, horrible basketball.

The Cavs are 10th in the league in assists, ahead of three of the four teams you said "share the ball".

Before the B1G tournament many experts said that the week layoff would hurt the teams in the NCAA tournament. Both teams that have punched their ticket to the final 4 both had week layoffs after they won their conference tournaments.

I'm just glad it didn't help Purdue. There had been some talks about burnout and fatigue affecting their upperclassmen, and lord knows that team got every break imaginable up until the Haas injury.

Agree. I love both NBA and college basketball. They’re totally different games, and both have their fun and enjoyable reasons to watch.

Yeah the tournaments are always fun. The different rivalries between schools are cool too. I always see people say that they "don't play defense" in the NBA, but if you actually watch you see that they do. The stars are just so good at offense that they're almost impossible to stop.

That's great. LeBron goes 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 and he either shoots it at the end of the clock or Smith, Korver, or Love hoist up a 3 late in the clock. That's the extent of their "passing".

Yes the defense is good in the NBA, for the most part. The bottom of the NBA is really bad though, comparatively.

It works for the most part. Different preferences for different people. I like watching players iso and try scoring on their guy more than I like the team style.

Guess agree to disagree. I also can't stand LBJ.

Neat.

To each their own I guess. I could make an argument that college basketball is garbage given, 90% of the guys playing it aren't actually that good at basketball.

No it isn't. I don't even like the Cavs, but the moves they made were to get guys who are good at playing team ball. They're dominated by LeBron, but the guy is the best in the sport when he takes over. The difference from their ball movement before the moves and now is night and day. Helps when you get rid of your cancerous pieces (IT)

Brad Stevens has to be a magician or something to have made IT look as good as he did last year.

I mean he looks fine with the Lakers....... but the Lakers kind of suck and are taking advantage of not tanking while playing a bunch of tanking teams. So basically what he was with Sacramento and Phoenix, a good guy on a bad team.

I'm still surprised at the personal crusade he took to kill any good will he had worked up in Boston with his off the court stuff

I'm 5'6 and 135ish pounds. If we're basing D1 players against me, then they're all first, second, or third team NBA players. That isn't even an argument worth arguing against because of how illogical it is. And yeah, most college players aren't actually that good at basketball. Hanner Perea had a scholarship to a major 5 school and he couldn't catch a basketball, Hollowell looked like he was reading some ancient language when he had the ball in his hands. But yeah, sure they're good at basketball....
