hoosierfan6157 Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 I feel like we wouldn’t suffer the same fate as Virginia’s because CAM created a lot of open looks for our team this season. We just didn’t have the shooters that we have had in the past.Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners ALASKA HOOSIER, thebigweave, IUrocker and 1 other 3 1 Quote
Popular Post WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 17, 2018 Popular Post Posted March 17, 2018 Virginia OVERPERFORMED their talent all season because of Bennett. IMO They had a phenomenal season and they were never as talented as their record indicated. The were a team that loved one another and played as brothers. When UMBC hit a run in the 2nd half, Virginia panicked and started chucking threes. Virginia was never built to be a comeback team. The pressure of the tournament combined with a terrible shooting night did them in. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners IUsafety, chicagoHOOSIER, Stuhoo and 7 others 10 Quote
SteelerHoosier Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 I've never been a fan of Bennett. His style will win a lot of regular season games, but unless he opens it up he'll never make consistent deep runs. LIHoosier and jonz44 2 Quote

This Arizona team and many others never played as a team. Tons of ISO stuff. NBA dreams. If a coach could get a team with the talent of Arizona to play together and smart. Watch out. Sean Miller always seems to have problems with that. I’m torn because I want that Elite talent that some teams get but I want guys the buy into the program and want to win. Delicate balance here and I don’t know how to judge it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app mdn82, jonz44, CR3AMnCR1MS0N and 7 others 10 Quote

Could be a function of personnel...time will tell; but I watched both Arizona and Virginia get spread out and flat out punished this week by teams very comparable to the likes of Ft. Good thing you added that asterisk comment you young whippersnapper! lol And FWIW, you used the right noun to describe him. I tired of Vitale a long time ago. theriverpilot Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 IU plays the same defense as Older Miller and Bennett. As I said last night, I hope Archie is watching. I think these criticisms of the pack line D might be a little premature. One team (Arizona) was obviously distracted and the other ran into a buzzsaw and then panicked. I’m anxious to see where Archie takes IU with it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app ALASKA HOOSIER, woodenshoemanHoosierfan and chicagoHOOSIER 3 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 I did several different brackets with my nephew as an exercise in probability, luck, and the craziness of March Madness. The coin flip bracket his 7/8 (Davidson) in the South and 8/8 in the Midwest region. Crazy! As a coach part of it is knowing where people want to attack your offense or defense. Both had fundamental flaws and didn’t react. UMBC hit a few threes and the center of the floor started opening up. That’s a huge red flag for the packline. Much like what happened in Fort Wayne and ISU game. Have to stay disciplined. Offensively we are different than VU and Zona. Zona sets one or two picks and then turns into an iso team. WeirdSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app chicagoHOOSIER and Old Friend 2 Quote

I hate it because a blind goat can coach isolation; and these guys are basically getting paid millions of dollars to recruit. Coaching is no longer x and o's...it's salesmanship. I've been in sales 25 years. I am not making millions. Yet. chicagoHOOSIER, jonz44, thebigweave and 1 other 3 1 Quote
