True but our offense is faster and can come back from being down. The blocker mover offense makes it almost impossible to come back from double digits. It moves to slow.

Arizona's offense if faster too and has better talent but they still have the same problem of losing early in the tournament.

It was (offense) on occasion.   Other times, it stagnated.  Could be a function of personnel...time will tell; but I watched both Arizona and Virginia get spread out and flat out punished this week by teams very comparable to the likes of Ft. Wayne and Indiana State

I've never been a fan of Bennett.  His style will win a lot of regular season games, but unless he opens it up he'll never make consistent deep runs.

I'm not sure some coach's are willing to trust their players enough to open it up. They want to control and micromanage everything. Sometimes they're are so afraid of failure they aren't willing to go for success.

6 days ago this jackass was crying about OK State cuz they swept Kansas and had all these Quad 1 wins. I guess being old as hell works when your memory's gone to crap.*

*No harm meant to the elder statesmen of this forum, just this case in particular.

IU plays the same defense as Older Miller and Bennett.   As I said last night, I hope Archie is watching.

I think these criticisms of the pack line D might be a little premature. One team (Arizona) was obviously distracted and the other ran into a buzzsaw and then panicked. I’m anxious to see where Archie takes IU with it.

Exactly. Anyone that watched the Arizona game saw they were just going through motions. They had already packed it in. They didn't care they lost.

Wasn't a criticism.   Just a statement and a small red flag.  Time will definitely tell; and Archie's a smart guy.

Yeah I agree. As a coach part of it is knowing where people want to attack your offense or defense. Both had fundamental flaws and didn’t react. UMBC hit a few threes and the center of the floor started opening up. That’s a huge red flag for the packline. Much like what happened in Fort Wayne and ISU game. Have to stay disciplined. Offensively we are different than VU and Zona. Zona sets one or two picks and then turns into an iso team. Weird

Seems every team is an iso team anymore.  I hate it because a blind goat can coach isolation; and these guys are basically getting paid millions of dollars to recruit.   Coaching is no longer x and o's...it's salesmanship.  I've been in sales 25 years.  I am not making millions.  Yet.
