So Crean left his defensive playbook for Miller?  Hope the other team misses is about the only thing his team's did on defense.

You saw different? What did you see? Teams in the conference shoot 25-30 3’s a night jack. This, this ain’t gonna work.

A lot of the negative people (including me) just let off steam here. I don’t think any of us expected to be world beaters, but I think we all expected a better effort. I think we expected our 2 senior guards to play like seniors and not like freshmen. I think we expected to play somewhat competent defense instead of giving up 20 wide open 3s. Not every negative person is a cliff jumper. That gets old

I still feel good about the direction we're going. Newkirk and Johnson are two big issues on this team and they won't be here next year. I don't have high expectations for this season so I just sit back and enjoy watching my favorite team. Help is on the way.

The cavalry. And that cavalry better include Romeo

Yeah I’m not really that upset though. I’m disappointed but it’s not do or die to me anymore

To me all that matters is building and getting better for next season but today was a obvious step back and doesn't help. I want momentum going into off season and that will be hard with performances like this one

I love how after the Duke game everyone was feeling optimistic and good about this team. Now after we lose our first B1G game(on the road) everyone hates this team and we arent going to go .500 on the year. Its okay to be frustrated in dropping this game but good lord guys, I really hope some of you dont live near a bridge. Otherwise we might have a lot of jumpers.

No one is jumping off any bridges.

Just reacting to our play today. We played nearly our best with a raucous fanbase at home and lost by 10 to Duke.

We play poorly and lose to an average Michigan team on the road by 15.

We aren't good and it's hard to watch losses and bad play.

We know what the pack line can do.  Virginia, Arizona, etc. run it.

Crean let these players take a nap on defense after throwing the ball away for the 15th time.  It's going to take time to break all the stupid stuff Crean taught them.  I'm saying that and I wasn't big on the Miller hire to begin with.

A team with a lot of bad habits? A team that can’t face guard anyone? A team that has a low IQ and is confused at both ends? A team with Senior guards as inconsistent as Freshman?

I don’t like it. This defense. I really don’t. I’m calling it the “I hope he doesn’t make it”, “stay 20 feet away from the shooter” defense. It’s the only thing that makes sense. Pack line just doesn’t have the right ring to it.

You've got to keep in mind we have nowhere near the personnel we need for this scheme. However, there's no use for Archie to delay teaching pack line until next year because the returning players for next year and beyond needed to start learning it ASAP, especially when there are so many bad habits to be broken. It's gonna take time. There will be games like this.... Several of them. Sometimes learning the hard way drives the lesson in deeper. And some lessons are learned over a long period of time.... In this case, the entire season.

Even without Romeo I'm still really excited about the class coming in. Phinisee and Anderson fill huge holes at point guard and 3 point shooting. I'm high on Hunter too as a big guard. We also will have Race and Moore with a year in the system under their belts. I don't expect Forrester to contribute much next year but that could always change.

Yeah I get tired of people that say “step away from the ledge”. That crap gets old. Us as people are reacting to this game today. It was nothing but bad and that’s unacceptable

That's why I say, let McSwain and Newkirk ride the pine and roll with guys that might come back. We aren't doing anything this season anyway.

We may not be good, but we also arent bad. This team losing their first B1G game on the road is not that surprising. We play better pick and roll defense and feed the post instead of taking garbage jumpers and who knows what happens. This team is growing and is learning. There are gonna be bumps. But its always the sky falling when something doesnt go right.

Pack line defensive teams have generally had a hard time scoring consistently; and if Archie thinks Indiana fans will be happy with a bunch of games scoring in the 50's, he is sadly mistaken.   Our team has to be either exceptional defensively or play with a better offensive tempo.

If we play poorly on defense and slow on offense, it looks like that.  Awful to watch.  That was a horrid game.  Zero offensive flow; no intensity on defense.  Poorly played, poorly coached.  I am disappointed.   Mostly in our senior guards.  That was an abysmal performance by both.

The class is good but it wouldn’t be the same without Romeo
