Signs of life! Definite improvement from our Hoosiers! The D—especially in the 2nd half was special. And—we ran some nice offensive sets. When was the last time we had 3 screens on one set play? And—Juwan is back! And - RoJo found his shot! Coach said our older guys have been struggling to learn the new system as their muscle memory was the old Offense/Defense. I think they are figuring it out. And—although he makes frosh mistakes , I can see why Coach is so high on Al. We are better with him on the floor. Good stuff! Our Hoosiers are indeed growing up!

Newkirk only played 2 min. in the second half so Durham may have officially relegated Newkirk to the bench.  I'm OK with that provided Durham doesn't start jacking 3's.  He's doing a great job of penetrating and not committing TO's, but he wasn't a particularly good 3-point shooter in AAU ball and he hasn't demonstrated that he's improved after 4 games in college.

It is great coming off this performance that we are all starting to get excited about this team—this year. Is a surprise turn around coming? I vote yes. It would be nice to see an IU team get better as the season progresses for a change!

I agree with this, but that 4-5 game stretch with Duke, UL, ND, etc will be rough. I’m praying we pull off one of them

I don’t think it’s a surprise turnaround at all to Rebel’s point. And to your point, I think IU gets two of those games. Duke goes down in the Hall

CuJo’s best game this year BY FAR!
Didn’t shoot it well but.......
Defended.
Active hands.
Played with real effort.
Not sloppy with the ball.
Much, much better

How do you play 17 minutes and not commit a foul? Probably by not playing much defense. Is active hands count like deflections? Not sloppy with the ball because he doesn't have it much. Except shooting air balls. Sorry, I think he adds 0 intangibles to what this team really needs. Unless he is shooting well.

I don't think we could beat Duke playing five on three. I like the way we played in the second half, especially on the defensive end. But still, the level of competition wasn't great. While I like watching games, I really think CM needs more practice time.

I’ve been tough on Juwan this year for disappearing in games—but he spurted tonight to a double-double and 4 blocks. That is what we have been missing. Deron has been consistent. Smith is coming and will take more minutes from Freddie as he improves—and we have yet to see what a healthy Hartman brings to the front court—heck I remember the year he played a lot at center and shockingly held his own in the Big Ten. Our front court could end up better than people are predicting—even though we will almost always be under-sized. It is good to be excited about IU BBall again!
