Sorry—just makes me sick. Remember our past Indiana kids who did not come in nationally ranked who played their hearts out and their butts off for IU?

Like—Calbert Cheaney —Evansvillle, IN —from broken leg to all time Indiana and Big Ten leading scorer

Brian Evans—Terre Haute, IN —tall and slow—could not jump—became Big Ten POY.

Michael Lewis—Jasper IN —-red headed fireball-became IU all time assists leader until Yogi broke his record

Tom Coverdale—Noblesville—IN not so athletic but tough as nails-led us to National Championship game on a gimpy foot

Screw the National rankings and Give me some more of these tough, hard-nosed Indiana kids to sprinkle in with our national recruits and let’s build something. We’ve got hi b-ball IQ kids—leaders and shooters in Indiana. Let’s get them here again. We don’t have to cheat to win. There is a better and more satisfying way!

Yeah this is what worries me the most when it comes to IU's potential involvement in all this.

During the end of the 2015 season (I think that was the year) when Crean was on the hot seat, we lost a bunch of late-season games, the calls for getting rid of Crean were getting louder, and then what happens?

Thon Maker and Thomas Bryant walk through the door on visits on the same day.  I think we played Iowa or MSU that day, and the program had absolutely no momentum at all.  If anything it was starting to get a little toxic.

You'll never convince me we didn't get Thon Maker on campus without doing some under the table stuff.

All the way back to John Wooden and Sam Gilbert... that sill pisses me off beyond words... UCLA was held up as the program that was head and shoulders above the rest for their incredible runs of NCAA championships... with talent bought and paid for. What we're seeing now is history repeating itself on a much larger, wider scale.

Don't even try to tell me that the NCAA and the rest of the world did not know what was going in with The Wizard of Westwood. I'm not buying it.

I agree, Rebel. For what it's worth, my niece is a new Albany cheerleader and close friend of Romeo's and he seems like our kind of kid. I don't think he's hunting for bribes. His parents are successful people and Vandy grads which is why they are in the mix. I think he'd fit the role of the traditional iu player. My niece can't even get him to hint at what his decision will be.  She did have a funny experience last fall before all of this fib stuff broke.  She was going into the gym for cheer practice and the double doors were both pulled open for her...one by Calipari and one by Pitino. I told her that even though I can't stand either of them, that still was pretty cool.

Romeo and family might be wonderful people. That doesn't exclude them from any of this. Wasn't an Adidas AAU team (twenty-two vision) created for Romeo..?

He also had a personal anecdote that he knows of runners that feel under compensated and will pocket some of the money that is supposed to go to the players. Lol. He didn't say it was him but just that he knows it happens.

Another note on this..
Programs can actually decide if they want to play this game or not. They can decide if they want to dip their toes in or swan dive from the 10m platform.

I do believe Crean cut many of the "relationships" off when it came down to decision time. Like others have mentioned the three most worrisome recruits are Williams, Vonleh, and Bryant.

I believe all were tied to Kenny Johnson.

Parents not Vandy graduates...they like Vandy due to strong academics (Romeo is really smart). Sorry bout that, not sure how I got that in my head.
