Henry is an intangibles guy. He won't wow you during the game, but at the end you'll look at the box score and say, "He was all over the place!" The most important aspect seems to be the leadership he provides on the court. I would love to have him, but not sure where he stands with us now.

Yep.   He was the best player on the floor in every game he played in the state tournament, and he shut down Wilkes.  Kid gives max effort on every play, he's a great team mate, fundamentally sound, doesn't need the ball, and he's a winner.  He reminds me very much of Steve Eyl.  Maybe a shorter Alan Henderson.  Just a kid that does what you need done, and he helps you win.

Only game in state tournament where he wasn't the best player on the court for the day that I saw was against Castle. Jack Nunge was a beast 32 and 13 I believe and Ben Davis had no answer for him in the 4th. Previous staff probably should of given Nunge a closer look

Lol we could make a topic just for what they should have been doing. Might break the site though

From what I understand Nunge was set on going to Iowa.  That's where he's from and apparently he was neighbors with McCaffery for a week.  I was at that game and both Henry and Nunge held their own.  Castle couldn't stop the 3 ball and Henry created a lot of those open shots for his teammates.  I would like to see Henry commit to IU.  Maybe we'll get to see both Nunge and Henry match up again in Big Ten play.

I appreciate the comparisons; helps me understand him a little better. How would he compare to Wittman? Better athlete?

Nowhere near the shooter.   Better athlete, yes.  More of a dirty work player.  Wittman was a scorer.  A shooter.  Henry can score a little, but that's not his primary role and never will be.  The best comparison I can make is AJ Moye or Steve Eyl.   Henry is a fantastic team mate.  He's as fundamentally sound as any player I've seen in a while....someone taught him well.  He always makes the right decision; he understands "why" as well as "what."    I'm not sure there's a great comparison to him.  He is fundamental and sound like Damon Bailey, but not that caliber scorer or ball handler.  He's bigger than Moye was.  A better player than Eyl.  Thicker than Greg Graham.....and taller.   He's got a hint of Rodman in him.  A hint of Bailey.  Part Moye....    Hard to pin it down, really.   Just a good, solid player.  Will never be highly ranked because he doesn't need the ball, but he's a kid I want.

Is Winston Morgan a good comparison?

Virginia tech and TCU offered as well. I think I'm done pointing out who has offered. The secret is out. I'm sure we will he in his top 6 and after that you just hope he visits for an official and CAM lays out a plan for him moving forward to ease his mind about the other wings committing. If not looks like he will be a nice piece for someone

Man i really want this kid. With his stock skyrocketing, I will be more than happy adding him if we dont get RL and I won't feel as bad about not having him. The problem is  Henry may decide before that decision comes or he may wait to see how the dominoes fall. I hope it's the latter b/c losing RL and Henry would be a little crushing.

So who would we rather, Henry or Hinton if it came down to that?

Also, I'd say if we can't get Romeo then, we should get Henry without hesitation.

If we get Henry and Phinessee, I'd be thrilled.  Both at least 3 year kids.  As good as Romeo is, he'd be here for a year, tops, and we'd have lost a lot of kids, so he'd be on a very young and inexperienced team.   i'd love Romeo, but Henry and Phinessee are more important to me.
