2018 General Recruiting Thread

Just get this vibe it is going to be a Cody Zeller like recruitment playing out. Everyone assumed UNC. Then if not UNC then maybe Butler because of Stevens. Not until the OV's were we really considered to have a strong chance. Just get that vibe where we are strong but being underestimated.
 
Edit: I am not giving proclamations we are getting him, but feel we are stronger than what we are given credit for at this point.

I just hope this isn't a repeat of the BD situation and people will be in for a huge letdown. I like our chances, but I'm not going to get my hopes up too high.

I would definitely hope people recognize the complete opposite situations here. I understand being guarded, but recruiting a kid in this state versus trying to poach a NBA coach in April with the MVP on his team are two different things.

That team has 0% chance of winning the NBA championship so not sure how important it is to have Westbrook other than to fill some seats....

My thoughts are they will take a 4 year PG like Phinisee right now, than be all in on Romeo and if Garland wants to come to than we will have one scholarship left for him. Myself I don't totally believe Garland is interested in IU till I see him on campus for a visit.

LOL I like that and honestly have no clue. I have mixed feelings about Phinisee because I was told from someone who knows that the staff was sold on him yet but then read where Brusier called him and tried to get him to commit the other day. But after him not sure who is on the list but I do know we will get a PG

This is what needs to happen. Get a PG and then get Romeo. I'm of the mindset that this needs to be a 5 player class

I'd support a 6 man class only if it's Garland at this point and he's deadest on being a OAD whether or not he's ready for the NBA

Romeo all day for me. He can handle the ball and it would probably help our pitch to him since in the NBA almost all big name guys help handle the rock. Most 2 guards handle it a lot as well.

Not saying we don't need a pg, I just have faith in DG and CuJo really expanding their games this year. The need for a pg is still there, but Romeo checks a lot more boxes for me.

Romeo without question. The statement of bringing a top 10 in-state recruit to IU cannot be ignored. Garland is great but we have other guards that can play PG and we have our eyes on some solid 2019 PGs.

I could see Green making massive strides this season. There are a lot of boxes that still need to be checked before I'm confident calling him the de facto floor general. But I agree with you.

Garland. We need a PG in the worst way, and we'll struggle next year if we don't have a contributor. Garland isn't a one and done like Romeo either. I get the pull of Romeo being an in-state top 5 player, but we can live without him. Anderson and Hunter can both play a little bit of SG. We don't have anyone on the roster for next year that is a pure PG.

Romeo Langford (@yeahyeah_22) will not play in this weekend's All-In bball tournament at @kyexpocenter. WILL play in Las Vegas in few weeks.
