Excellent thank you very much sir. Those extra wins puts us in the dance but keeps us Crean. A top performing coach stats should be much higher.

For comparison sake, Archie's Dayton tenure. Separated 2014-17 from the 1st 2 years he used to rid the funk.

Yeah he was getting 18-20 minutes and was not a starting guard. I think he felt he needed a bigger role and he Didn't like their style either.

Ahh okay gotcha. Well, a new coach is in town so if he wants to stay the starting pg it's there for the taking. I'm sure Archie will be able to help him improve as one.

After reading reactions from around the college basketball landscape, the only people I see that don't think this is a very good to great hire are those IU fans who were so sure it was going to be Donavon or those that wanted Alford because he is an IU guy.

Donovan was a pipe dream at best.

We need some really good assistant coaching to speed up this transition.

I really want John Groce. I think he's a solid coach, just got dealt a short hand with all those injuries and mishaps off the court.

His name actually has been thrown out there as a possible replacement for Archie at UD.

I prefer to say long shot.  He may have listened, but it would have been a huge accomplishment to get him or Stevens.

There really is a pool of about 6 guys (the ones we debated about endlessly) that are currently the best options for anyone looking to hire a coach.  Each in that group has pro's and con's but all are very good coaches and we got one of them (perhaps the one with the greatest upside).  It would be practically impossible for ANY program to pry Calipari or Self away.  All the other top tier coaches (perhaps except Few) are approaching the finish line and will be retiring soon.  Between now and when that happens there could be a coach that rises to the top, but right now there's no guarantee that UNC, Duke, Louisville, or MSU will have a better pool to choose from than we did.

From what I've seen of him, Archie Miller looks to have the demeanor, pedigree, and basketball smarts to develop into one hell of a coach for us.
