Welcome Coach Miller

Watching that IU basketball intro they've been doing this year at the home games.

I want Crean back. Give me Crean for another year to avoid Alford and Marshall. Join the cause!

I'm pretty sure this is a ban worthy offense.

What do you want on your Tombstone?

Take this at face value, please.  Not as support.  If it IS Alford, he would be a very different coach at Indiana than he would anywhere else.  It's hard for me to explain that, and I know what his record is.  I just don't think he'd be as bad as many think he would, despite his resume.

It'll just be years of inconsistency.  Exactly what we are trying to escape.

I think it'd be better than that.  Of course we want to avoid it.....escape it.  I just think it's be better than most think because I know who'd be on his bench, and I know what kind of relationships he has with local coaches.

Don't shoot the messenger, but I just heard a new name from a friend in the AAU ranks.  I don't buy it for one second, but it makes some sense in a fishbowl.  Before you laugh...take a breath.  Geno Auriemma.

At some point I hope that I don't wake up and realize that this whole thing has been some sick and twisted experiment by a bunch of IU psychology students on how social media effects the mental stability of college basketball fanbases! I've spent more time on this damned phone than talking to my family for over a week. Can we get paid for being lab rats?

OKC is nothing but a system for Westbrook to use to hunt for triple doubles these days. They'll lose in the first round and the franchise will begin to turn on Donovan. Russ leaves after next year and then he's stuck with a bunch of role players. We can give him a salary increase and a chance to actually coach again, and at the highest level in college basketball at that. A few more nights like tonight and we're gonna be looking pretty good to Billy.

I've seen his name come up a few times, but nothing appeared to have any merit.

I have massive amounts of respect for what he has accomplished, but no thanks.  The style, speed, and competition level of men's and women's college bball are not comparable.

I've always wondered how he'd do with a men's program. But I feel like if he ever had that itch he'd have scratched it by now.

Noooo. Give me an entire coaching staff of Steve Alford's instead of that. Men's basketball and women's basketball are two completely different sports.

Ever since talk of BD possibly being interested in the job, I've figured it wouldn't be or wasn't simply because he could get more money, but more a case of realizing he really enjoyed the college game more.  After getting a taste of the NBA, he may have come to the conclusion that college ball is more his cup of tea.  I hope that's the case and he comes to Bloomington.  Adding a couple of seasons of NBA experience to an already accomplished NCAA resume makes him the perfect hire.

Agree. Look Pitino and Calapari both had a taste and it didn't suit them. Of course didn't have star laden teams. BD thought that he was walking in to a great deal with both KD and Westbrook. Bet your rear that Westbrook will bolt to LA. Too much money and glitz in that market. Also big difference between NBA and college. Some guys love to teach. Some love to manage. Maybe BD is a teacher.

Not to be another guy posting a random rumor without confirmation, but I just thought I'd throw this out there... I have a friend who knows some guys in the athletic department who apparently told him Donovan to IU is a "lock". Again, i'm not an insider, will never claim to be or anything, just thought i'd share it. Don't know anything about who he talked to, how high up they are etc.

Fran Fraschilla says IU won't get Billy D.

I think it was in jest. Guy tweeted at him saying we're going to throw everything we've got at Donovan to which Fran replied, "You won't." It's a challenge thrown around by the kids these days.

I saw a couple of months ago that he almost took a men's job a few years ago. He didn't elaborate on which program it was. It has to be boring winning all those games and championships in a row. If he is up for a new challenge, I hope it is not at Indiana.
