My top 4 to begin with was Stevens, Donovan, Bennett and Archie Miller. Stevens has already said no but Donovan is willing to listen. I used to be torn on Bennett and Archie but no more. I would want Archie if not Donovan. But I still think Billy Donovan is gonna be the next HC. It's not a coincidence that the Donovan rumors pop up when the Crean rumors pop up. I'm so pumped right now guys

Yeah we need to lose tomorrow. 2 wins in a row and Glass might start to think Crean is our lord and savior.

I honestly have a gut feeling he stays. I know that isn't what I want, but I think he stays no extension and is given another year. God forbid we do good next year only for him to receive an extension. Idk I just don't think Glass is capable of it. No media guys that have good sources have even hinted at it but yet I have seen plenty on other guys. Our only shot is him finding a new job and our hate for him has always been something he feeds off. I actually think he enjoys more than dislikes it. If it does happen and Billy D says no sign me up for Mike White or Archie Miller. I would like Tony Bennett, Chris Mack and Chris Collins. I know White is a curveball to most cause he doesn't have the resume but he has done enough to value him. If Crean does indeed stay only to leave after next year I think he becomes a huge name. I just have a bad feeling we win out then win 2 or 3 in BTT to sneak into the tourney and then Glass has a reason to keep him. He is waiting for it I promise. The silence goes both ways. We suck the rest of the way he is almost forced to fire him. We make a run he takes 70% of our fans complaining instead of the 100% it would be if not.

It is ALWAYS safe for that. Best case scenario (somewhat in realm of reality) CTC lines up another job over the next week or so, IU finishes strong and makes the NCAA's, wins a game or two. OG decides to come back and Billy D is announced the new coach after the Thunder flame out in playoffs. Mulitple Banners result. We all struggle to find things to gripe about.

I'd love for it to be true, but I have reservations.  There are a number of reasons he could say no and all we've heard is that he'll listen.  He'd be a home run hire that could build a juggernaut here.

It's well known that the Donovan camp wanted to talk two years ago. Glass didn't want to pull the trigger. Two years later, Donovan wants to talk again. Seems like way too much smoke to be no fire

The only way I see this happening is if Crean receives nothing but negative feedback from the schools his people are reaching out to, and Glass receives nothing but negative feedback from the candidates he's targeting.

How is the lack of interest in Crean Indiana's problem? Pay him the buy-out, over time, according to the contract and move on. Crean was a decent commodity when he came here... what happened to his rep while here is his own doing.

Maybe this tank train has been accelerating so fast that it already accomplished it's mission and needs to slow down. We might need to win a few to make Crean more desirable to other schools.

If Crean can't find another job then that should show Glass that he isn't a good enough coach to keep. If the Missouri's of the college basketball world don't want him, why the heck should we?  Agreed though that it shouldn't be our problem in the first place.

There is NEVER a bad time to beat Purdue.  A few more wins should not make a difference at this point. Crean has had plenty of time to show us his COMPLETE body of work and the die should be cast.  He is a good guy and gave it his best shot but he is not the one to take us back to greatness. The administration knows it and if they don't make a change after this season they weren't going to really make one anyway. By not openly coming out in support of Crean---imo the administration is telegraphing to everyone that Crean is done. No reason we can't both root for the team AND a new coach.  I want Stevens, Donovan, Wright, Miller, or Fife---in that order of preference. Go Hoosiers---Beat The Boilers!

For those who want Fife, care to explain your reasoning? Not trying to attack anyone, just honestly curious. I posted this in another thread (may have been this one, not sure with 10 pages being added every day lol) that I don't think anyone would be mentioning him if he didn't play here. Losing record as a D1 coach. Yes he's done well recruiting, but that's for Izzo ultimately. I just see nothing that should put him even close to our radar.

We win out, Crean is getting extended. Someone will want Crean. A school where basketball isn't the main sport.
