I think today was a great example of sticking to the game plan no matter what. Crean probably planned in those minutes for Niegro and if we are hitting threes nobody cares. But we werent and we needed our 1st team All Big guy on the floor.

I gave Crean the respect due after the outright title. Well done. But today was vintage Crean post season edition. He proved he could finish the regular season well. He has yet to prove he can accomplish much of anything post season. That is a FAIR critique.

-  You stop runs (Crean weakness)

-  You play more to your strengths and make the opponent pay when they take it away

-  You have your team prepared and ready to play and understand the implications

-  You take TOs in crucial times to stop runs and draw plays to get buckets

 

IU/Crean did not do enough of those to earn the win today.

People can say lucky shot. What about the 3 before and the defense. No TOs down the stretch. Our final offensive possession was garbage. Didn't guard the three well the entire game. Good teams and coaches don't lose that game.

you adjust playing times. More minutes for best/most effective players. I don't care if Yogi plays 40 minutes. Yogi wouldn't care. No walk ons. Plays created for matchup differences. Play through injuries if possible. Treat every single possession like it's your last.

sure they do I have seen better teams with way better coaches lose games like that. Michigan hadn't hit a 3 in the 2nd half until the final 46 sec

Not giving up but let's face it this hurts our seeding and kills momentum. If we lose in first two games of ncaa a big title won't mean much to me. Time to watch michigan st and the rest of the good teams go far while we go home.

At some point we could consider thinking about potentially developing a half court offense philosophy as well how many times does something have to bite Crean before he learns
