JSHoosier Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I felt like vic broke out his sophomore year just developed his three ball his junior year but how could he not think cody was gone for sure. I would love to know what he thinks Noah will do lol

Sent from my SCH-I535 using BtownBanners mobile app

Vic had really improved his sophomore year but let's not exaggerate. His midrange wasn't really reliable yet, and he had no business shooting a 3. I'd say Crean's reasoning of "no one could see it coming" was crap though. coonhounds and CR3AMnCR1MS0N 2 Quote

Always blaming someone else and never admitting what he knows. Plus it would be easy to turn the coach speak into the required political jargon. Quote

What was the question. Would like to hear this haha. I think we would all like to ask Coach a few questions. Quote

Tim calling in now, asking what coaches can do to work on the turnover situation. "That's something we have not covered at all in practice," Crean deadpans. Crean keeps the deadpan going for a full minute, with the crowd here laughing. "I could sub more, but maybe you'll boo me if I sub more." Quote

Dealing with us ain't a treat.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app You're right its not a treat. Its a walk in the park. On a sunny day knowing any offensive adjustment that you will have to make will not be countered. Beating Indiana is as simple as blanketing Yogi as soon as he gets past half court and double teaming Noah anytime he gets the ball free throw line extended and under. To make sure Yogi misses more than he makes, press him so that he has to work to get the ball up the court. He will be tired and start missing shots after halftime. Its a broken record on that yet Crean hasn't figured out a way to beat this. Quote
JSHoosier Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Some thoughts this morning: 1) His comment about not foreseeing Vic and Zeller leaving early was why there aren't any leaders from the 2012 class. Which makes it even more BS IMO, they had all summer with those two and watched them play. Besides, Crean never thought to pull someone aside and say "We're going to need you to take on more of a leadership role"? Yeah, it's BS. 2) We should stop using youth as an excuse. Michigan played in the title game starting 3 freshman, a sophomore and a junior and none of them were McD's AA. Syracuse lost MCW, Southerlund, and Triche (nearly 39 points) and is undefeated. Young doesn't help, but that does not mean the team can't be good. Certainly doesn't excuse how awful this team is. HoosierReb01, KingPG21, BlueDevil and 4 others 7 Quote
HoosierAloha Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Hearing coach respond that way is exactly what I fear. All the armchair coaches in this fan base is pretty pathetic. This program needs stability not more changes. Part of that is on the coaching staff and part is on all the crap "experts" on these boards and fan base. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

I also don't agree with him because it is two freshman because Jeremy started all year until he needed refocused which he shouldn't have been starting anyhow but whatever point is if jeremy was where he should b he would start and the only reason troy starts is? HoosierAloha Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Not sure exactly what you're referring to but when your fifth year senior and fourth year senior play like crap they deserve to be called out. Maybe, just maybe, he's trying to light a fire under their butt. Probably not though because that might be a correct move and, like some experts on here point out he is not capable of making a correct move. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners That fifth year senior is bringing about as much as he was ever going to bring, he's just playing like the player he is. People built up a myth that he was better for whatever reason, but him being on this team has just as much to do with who his little brother is as it does the player Evan is. Evan is a player that will take 3 3s and make 1, that's all he's ever been, every once in a while the stars will alone for him and he'll score 20 but he's a career 34/35% shooter for a reason. I think many fans expected too much out of him, and if Crean expected more it's his own fault. Quote

I hope they have learned to get good basketball players and not potentially good players cause they r a lot harder to coach than they thought. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners "It's Indiana". Tom knew what he was getting into. Criticism comes with the job at any traditionally successful basketball program. Message board commentary isn't what gets coaches fired. The fan base has nothing to do with the struggles this program has faced this season. 10th place in the Big Ten, 331st or so in turnover margin, 14-11 overall...these are not numbers that would be very well accepted anywhere else. Tom will have his opportunity to turn it around. mdn82 and BlueDevil 2 Quote
