TOM CREAN FIRED

Definitely has been a different feel on the boards the past couple of days....people getting worried and whatnot. Is there anyone out there who still think there should be no doubt Crean will be gone?

I am getting the feeling that he will be back, and I am thinking that it will be a very toxic situation.

Kind of running out of things to talk about, so I had a funny thought today. In every way I can think of, Tom Crean is the exact opposite of Bob Knight. I mean, I could make a list. From game management, to media relations, tempo, strategy... I really can't think of one way they are not opposed.

Finally got home and had a chance to read Doyel's column. First, I have a healthy skepticism for people who tell me they're the most transparent, honest, etc., etc. because almost without exception, that's bullsh!t.

Having said that, and if for only the entertainment value of it, his column said enough "right" things about the situation to give it a thumbs up. I still think he plays both sides of the middle, but give him credit when at last he finally notices, like so many others did years ago, that the emperor has no clothes.

The easiest and most simple way to define the two is this: Bob Knight is a Champion. Tom Crean isn't.

Bob Knight for all his faults was a leader.  Its why players he treated like crap still liked him.

Tom Crean lets them have whatever they want so they will like him and instead they just walk all over him.

You can lead through fear, you can lead through respect.  You can not lead by just giving a group everything they want IE Guaranteeing somebody they will start.

So apparently there is a rift on the team. Blackmon is a part of it and Johnson possibly. Not surprised, although I will say rob has been my favorite player the past 2 years. Hope he doesn't go anywhere after the season

I have never really believed that JBJ was good for a team environment. I think it has to frustrate players to see him get as much PT as he does when he doesn't even try on D.  I think thats a good chunk of why we improved when he went down.

For me with Blackmon, it's his selfishness. I've seen him drive in the lane with 3 guys on him and get swatted too many times. That's got to get old for his teammates. If James had the same mindset on O that he did against Iowa in the BTT he could've had a monster assist year.

Well, I have to admit that JBJ & family were the first I thought of when news of internal strife was going around.  If for no other reason than the fact that his parents have been at pretty much every game over the last month.  Glass's decision to forego the home game probably wasn't real popular with Mr. & Mrs. Blackmon.
