For those who want Fife, care to explain your reasoning? Not trying to attack anyone, just honestly curious. I posted this in another thread (may have been this one, not sure with 10 pages being added every day lol) that I don't think anyone would be mentioning him if he didn't play here. Losing record as a D1 coach. Yes he's done well recruiting, but that's for Izzo ultimately. I just see nothing that should put him even close to our radar.

His only head coaching experience was with ipfw and they were just becoming a d 1 team and he did a pretty darn good job. He isnt my first choice and is a heck of a risk but if they hired him i would back it 100%.

I don't want fife but It's simply because he's a Hoosier. He might be a good coach but not much to go by

We win out, Crean is getting extended. Someone will want Crean. A school where basketball isn't the main sport.

That's what I'm saying! We need somebody to want him. At this point it's clear that IU doesn't, we need a sucker to come along and bite. Let's flash fool's gold at them instead of a fresh turd.

FIRE HIM! This is embarrassing

A lot of it may be that he played for IU.  There's just not much to go in with his track record either way; he had a losing record overall, but IPFW had a better record each year he was there and that is not an easy place to recruit to.  I'd like to see more from him at a mid-major or so.

We all know how the last Izzo assistant turned out for us, you know the one with 609 pages of content on why he should be fired

As I've said before, how many people can sit on Izzo's bench game after game and not learn a single thing?  Especially one that played for one of the best coaches ever?

Crean may be one of the few, and he's a guy that didn't play at a high level.  Like I said though, I'd prefer to see more of Fife at a mid-major; at this moment I wouldn't want him as head coach.

OK. So let IU hire Miller from Dayton, then Fife can take that job and prove himself there.

I've been conducting the Archie train since 2013-14...and I'm back to leaning toward him being the top candidate on my list. Just thinking about the possibility of having a guy around here winning games for 20+ years is an amazing thought. As great as Donovan is, we have no idea how long he'd be around. 10-15 years MAX and that's if he doesn't want to move on if another place opens up. I'd be thrilled with either hire, but Archie might be my #1. Donovan and Bennett are 1B and 1C.

Maybe Archie could bring my guy Kostas Antetokounmpo along with him.
