HoosierAloha Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Call me crazy but I still think Stevens is a possibility. This year? Doubtful. In the near future? I say possible! It's been rumored that he's not fond of recruiting. How would you improve recruiting without actually recruiting? Winning, in college (check) and in the NBA (currently accomplishing). Would he return to college if he knows he's capable of recruiting at a high level without spending his entire time on the road? I think so. Quote
Hovadipo Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Yeah wasnt Donovan our coach 2 seasons ago according to inside sources. Yeah and Crean was Bama's. And Marshall was either going to Bama or IU or Texas. But one thing was for sure...Crean was not coming back that next year. Trish Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Not a big fan of Fred, at most it's barley a lateral move. We either need a homerun hire or a hire that has major major potential. Thank god i don't have Glass's job. My current wish list is Stevens, Donovan, Kevin Ollie, or maybe Archie Miller. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

Hoosier Guy Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 I think Brad Stevens is absolutely still a possibility. Of course he's going to say he has no interest since IU currently has a HC. And he's definitely not gonna say that Crean is a terrible coach. This is what all coaches say in the public eye. And Brad is also very aware of the fact that if he would've said the exact opposite, this fan base would be losing its collective mind. I still think Stevens is gonna happen. This is the same guy that left Butler for the Celtics after signing a long term extension. There is a chance and I think it's greater than most people believe thebigweave and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

Izzo has personal accountability, a sound team defense(for most years), and a tough non-con schedule to have his team prepared for B1G play and March. Did Crean spend his tenure under Izzo with his hands over his ears yelling, "LA LA LA LA LA LA LA"? ALASKA HOOSIER, Ryno6284, HoosierAloha and 1 other 4 Quote

mdn82 Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Unless the Celtics bow out earlyThe Cavs window is closing fast. They have upside. That move just does not make sense. I swear the only way for fans to get over him is if he came out and said he hates us. He just signed an extension where both him and Ainge said this will put the college questions to rest. It has not. He has said numerous times he isn't going anywhere. People still think it's possible. Why? Hope? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Then on DP he said they he didn't not like recruiting at the college level. Plus he went to 2 national championship games and lost... How could anyone be fine with not attempting to win that championship ever again? Quote

So that tells me right there it's possible To be fair, that's going from college to the NBA. Bloomington isn't better than Boston, but that's not why you make the call. You go in with the mindset that you're going to get your guy and make an offer they can't refuse, do what it takes to get the guy you want. You cannot have the mindset that it's a waste of time, if you do you may as well not even call; I could hear it now, "hello Coach Stevens, would you be...you know what, I'm going to hang up on myself now". Yes, Ainge and Stevens said during the press conference it'd put the college questions to rest. What else would you expect them to say? thebigweave 1 Quote
