I have to wonder what, if any impact this has on Hoover. Got a feeling Hoover committed to Cig and Shanny and the possibility of Whitmer going back to the pros was firmly out on the table with all the coaching openings there. Would be happy to see Tino back, but Whitmer gets to claim having coached the 2025 Heisman. That’s a big loss. Crimson and Cream, go iu bb, Home Jersey and 10 others 13 Quote

Cig is clear that him and Shanny are very involved with the offense, but the defense is all Haines’. Napleshoosier 1 Quote

Hoover still has Cig, Shannahan’s offense, Becker/Marsh, good OL and RB room and prior to Whitmer the braintrust put Rourke in the NFL and the 2 QB’s prior to him were league MVP’s. Lots to make Hoover feel good about his decision. Napleshoosier, southsidehoosier, skhoosier2 and 1 other 4 Quote

If you listen to Fernando talk in interviews about Whitmer he brought some processes that were not in place prior that both Fernando and Alberto benefited from. Hopefully Cig keeps going with that under Hoover and has Tino seamlessly plug in the same routines. I would be shocked if even Cig didn’t have a clue that Whitmer was only here short term. I thought when he was brought in this was likely for him to gain experience as co-oc and head qb coach since he was an asst qb coach prior. Whitmer is up and coming. Id guess he will have an OC job in the next few years and at some point somewhere become at HC. Stuhoo 1 Quote

But once someone leaves, they left, and it’s not always easy to bring them back. Artie86 1 Quote
