SIU-Edwardsville vs IU - 12/2 Game Thread

Final score so much closer than it could/should have been.

We played our whole bench, priller went in halfway through the 2nd half. The only good games like this do is to help our bench feel more comfortable on the floor so I'm not surprised by the score, nor am I worried about it

No offense to Errek Suhr, but I want Homer Drew as a full time IU analyst. He's fantastic in spite of having an evil son.

I've said this before, I've known the Drew family for 40+ years. The classiest, most genuine people you'll ever meet. I think Scott had to have been switched at birth.

Me neither. Just saying score wasn't indicative of game for those that didn't watch. We dominated more than score shows. That's all.

Crean says he doesn't see OG's injury as long-term. Won't rule him out for Sunday, but "not banking on" him being able to play. #iubb

Wow. Encouraging.

Then just hold him off till Butler. No reason to put any stress on his ankle for these cupcakes.

Tonight was a BTO (Bachman Turner Overdrive) night because we were just "Takin' Care of Business" ! Glad to see our bench get a lot of minutes---Davis is a keeper--Morgan with a double-double----McRoberts is a pleasant surprise who will help us----and Priller is Priller---enough said!

McRoberts seems to be very freshman Hartman-esque with better defensive potential. I still remember seeing Hartman playing his first several mins and thinking, this guy is going to be a rock for us in a few years.

Anyone heard anything on Hartman yet? Would be fantastic to have both of these guys hanging around in the back half of the season when legs get tired. 2 Johnny on the spots

Small intangible, but I wish our bench was more excitable like we've seen in years past. Normally, anytime someone let's a 3 fly, half the bench is already standing up in anticipation. These guys just sit there. Just an observation from all the previous games. I'm nitpicking I know. Maybe too many new faces.

Lol then u have Bryant out there randomly losing his mind. I love it

I think IU would be wise to find a way to make sure McRoberts stays for the duration...whatever that may be.

I got excited watching Davis, McRoberts and McSwain play more minutes last night...gets me excited for their development next year/in the coming years.  I know it wasn't against a great team--but I can already see solid development and they will be big for us down the line...

Anybody know if Kenpoms ratings take into account minutes played by starters?

If not that's really gotta hurt our ratings our starters averages are playing a lot less than their counterparts in other teams

No they don't take that into account. Team statistics are what carry his ratings. Takes emotion, coaching, and fans out of the games. 3 things that can probably account for atleast 15-20 points a game in either direction.
