4 of next 6 games not Televised? Not Acceptable

Recommended Posts

Why would the University (or any Major University) allow this to happen.  There are still a lot of people out there who do not have a computer, who do not have internet, who do not stream TV.  And further more, what good is the Big Ten Network that we pay for, if you have to buy an additional subscription to watch the games.  I know they usually offer a free month trial but that is still crap!  And then I have to watch it on my computer instead of my 4k flat screen.  If any game is going to be streamed, local networks should have the right and obligation to broadcast the game live.  I pay for cable/satellite tv for a reason, not to be shut out to poor streaming services (BTN mainly, ESPN is ok but still have to watch them on my 17inch computer screen) .  Completely Unacceptable!

Sorry for the rant!

I agree. If you want to watch it on your tv, I recommend either an Apple TV, Amazon Fire Stick, or a Chromcast. You can stream things from your phone/tablet/phone onto your TV. That is what my house does for all BTN games and it works fine (though not completely perfect).

What good is a 4K TV if everything going into it is 1080 at best? The stream is 1080 and can be thrown up on your TV with an HDMI.

It's not ideal, but they know IU fans will pay for it. I'm one of them.

Here may be some solutions for the espn games for you. BTN plus is trash.

If you have a 4K smart tv, download the Espn app, you should be able to use the app to get the espn3 games on your tv after you enter your cable provider plus email and password... I think that may work for the Espnu game as well. If you can't do that, you can stream to the tv through your Xbox One and 360, PlayStations, etc.  (they also have Espn app)

Of course, you have the shitty laptop stream option. But even then, you can buy a cord to connect the laptop (depending on your laptop) to the 4K so you can still watch on the tv.

Are we saying they also won't be on replay the next day? That's really all I care about.

They usually are within a day or 2, but they don't always announce that too early as they want people to pay for the subscription....
