  3. Ristic with 11pts and 7assts in a 14pt win over Iceland. Game replay above. Ristic is #5. Former short time IU target Leo Curtis played for Iceland(#9) and had a nice game, though his 1st look of the game was a world class brick. Side note: the gym is interesting. And that was quite a crowd.

  4. Mistakenly first posted this in the general high school thread. '26 Jacob Webber may be on the IU radar. We watched him last month and was reported we're watching him this week. Originally from Nebraska but transferring to La Lumiere for the 25-26 season. There were reports in March he had committed to Nebraska but per Raby, that was an unfounded internet rumor. Playing AAU for ETG on the 3SSB circuit.

  5. I know we heard Rabby’s exceptionally, surprisingly negative take on Ristic, but plus 14, multiple assists (7) to 2 TO’s in 27 min in these pro-level games to me says he has game.looking forward to seeing how he fits in, would think he sees floor time as backup pg.

  6. His dad seems to really be running point for him in the recruiting process and if they've scheduled that many visits then I agree their plan is to take them all.

  7. Rippey’s full visit schedule, per London: UK 8/1-3 MiamI 8/27-29 UNC 8/31-9/2 Bama 9/12-14 Texas 9/19-21 Cuse 9/26-28 IU 10/17-19 Tenn 10/25-26 Don’t love that early isolated UK visit, but if he’s scheduled that many I assume the plan is to take them all. The Adidas schools are, I believe, just IU and Miami.

  8. In a mild surprise this afternoon, Webb chose the Boilers. My read, once McHaney and Johnson committed that signaled the end of the staff's interest, but I full expected him to end up in Tallahassee with a real need for DL/Edge talent.

  10. Reports I've seen suggest we haven't missed a Thompson game. In fact, he goes up against Latrell Allmond's team this morning and 247 reported KJ staked out a front row seat before the teams even took the floor. Admittedly, it could be more for Allmond, but the fact is, he's got a front row seat which Thompson won't miss.

  13. Im not sure what to make of this roster. I feel like every coach we’ve had in recent history has had a few glaring flaws and the following coach went crazy trying to solve for that that they created a new problem. We’ve been clamoring for shooters for years and seemingly we should have that but now lack size and rim protection. hopefully coach got the roster he wanted and has a plan for how to use it

  14. It appears we have lots of momentum on the recruiting front and should be expected knowing we hired enough coaches to 1 on 1 with each. The rubber meets the road when we get to see the team that’s constructed play and whether DeVries can coach. I remain cautiously optimistic.

  15. This is very good news to potentially have 5 games under our belt before the actual season starts. https://247sports.com/college/indiana/article/peegscom-sources-indiana-baylor-discussing-playing-exhibition-game-in-indianapolis-251676735/

  16. Okay Demo -- you are clearly on the mind-meld-same wavelength as this young man. See today's Daily Hoosier interview of Deron Rippey, or you could just read Demo's post from yesterday! https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-recruiting-top-25-pg-deron-rippey-on-indiana-visit-his-game-and-recruitment/

  17. “To me, DeVries started well and he’s done well in turning programs around”. I’ve got no problem with that. To me, DeVries was a strong mid major coach at Drake and had a solid year, yet not spectacular year at West Virginia. I’m optimistic about him but don’t have any sort of extreme confidence. I think our roster this season has extreme question marks and some notable holes. We didn’t get some guys because we were outbid or didn’t go after other guys because they were asking to much. That comes down to balancing the budget. That also comes down to NIL being a factor still. Did we build the team we wanted or did we build the best team we could for 10 million. There is a difference. And that is ultimately my point in it.

  18. Indiana women’s basketball legend retires after long professional career Billy Heyen Jul 4, 2025 at 6:17 PM EDT After a basketball career that took her around the world, Amanda Cahill has retired. One of the greatest players in the history of the Indiana University women's basketball has played her last professional game at the age of 29. ADVERTISEMENT Cahill spent most of her pro career in Luxembourg, along with some time in Australia. "Basketball has been great to me and provided me with so many opportunities, experiences and connections," Cahill told the Sandusky Register. "I am getting married in August and just graduated with my master's in social work. I thought these life transitions were prompting me to also transition away from basketball and lean more into a different career. I plan to still be around the game, but just not as a player — as a fan and maybe one day a coach." Cahill had a prolific Hoosiers career. She scored 1,884 points from 2014-2018, which still ranks fifth in Hoosiers history. Her 1,115 rebounds are second in IU history. ADVERTISEMENT Cahill also ranks eighth in steals, with 189, and tied for fifth in blocks, with 135. In Cahill's final college game, she was a big part of Indiana's 2018 WNIT championship. Before Indiana, Cahill was one of the best high school girls basketball players Ohio had ever seen. She was the Division II state player of the year as a sophomore, junior and senior at Clyde High School in northwest Ohio. She was 99-6 as a high school player, coached by her father to two state semifinal appearances while scoring more than 2,000 points with more than 1,000 rebounds. Now, Cahill is on to the next chapter of her life, with a legendary high school career in Ohio and college career at Indiana always a part of her journey.

  19. I think that people now know not to try and trash talk with our Coach. The man is not above leveling some heavy crapola…and then following it up with some wup@ss. :)

  20. Maybe. The sell here for a ‘26 PG is so strong. IU exposure/NIL. No returning PG. DDV taking Javon Small from a nice portal get to all-Big 12 and getting him drafted in 1 year. The system puts so much on the PG’s plate. They can basically promise a kid the keys without actually having to promise him. This is 1case where I would be pretty shocked if they don’t lock down a top kid at the position.

  27. His OV is this Friday. Regarding his position, we currently have 7 on the roster and 4 commits (The Edge position is also included in this number). Depending on what technique is planned for each player will depend on how many a coach will want on his team (USC currently has 21 total on the roster or committed in this position, PSU has 13, Michigan has 14, etc. etc.). For example, coaches have to answer questions like do I have enough 3 technique guys on the roster? Or can this recruit play Edge as well? In today's defense where heavy rotation happens in this position most schools have 10 to 13 on the roster. Also, this position has heavy turnover in the transfer portal. If I had to guess, Coach Haines and Coach Kuntz probably want at least 12 to 13 on the roster to work with.
