It might have been said, but the regular season tips off 3 weeks from tonight. IUFB being good has really caused basketball season to sneak up on me this year. A welcome surprise.

I think that the big-time music act in past years has been a very good idea for high school recruits. But NIL and portal recruiting has clearly changed all of that and so that effect is all but eliminated. So it comes down to - a music act is more excellent for the students, and a scrimmage is more excellent for alumni and oldsters. So for me? Put the music act in the IU Auditorium and let the scrimmage carry the event.

Glad to see the scrimmage is back. I was talking to a buddy in the athletic department a few weeks ago and Woodson was fighting this tooth and nail. Woodson had Mike Epps and Amp Harris in his ear telling him that he needed to have a big time rapper come in to perform for the crowd and recruits. But the athletic department didn't want to spend money on that. Glad to see they won out.

So Pikiell should be 16 on that list. Dogging his shitty job in comparison to Woodson's shitty job isn't doing Woodson any favors. And whatever resources Rutgers has in men's basketball, we have more. There are less than a handful of teams that can claim more than we have. Woodson has to win big this year. You can't come out and be an arrogant ******* with a record barely above .500 and with a program that isn't designed to "improve" and keep churning out double digit loss seasons. I flat out don't like him right now. I think that after his stunts to end the year last year that I'm not the only one. I think that "Tyme" joker on Twitter speaks for the staff and he is a ******* *******. They suck at recruiting HS. They did a good job of running Benjamins through the portal and picked up some good players. The only thing I have left for this dude is wins. The minute things look off this year, I am pulling the torch and pitchfork out. Woody burned up what little goodwill he had with me last year. You got the team now you arrogant, lazy @$$ hat. Prove you can win doing things completely different than everyone else oh NBA genius. And if he can't, well, he showed with Dane Fife that I don't have to give a flying **** what his IU legacy is when he gets shown the door. And after he is gone we can piss on his ashes with innuendo about what a turd he is. I like Indiana and that is the ONLY reason I am hoping we win. Woodson can get ****ed.

Unless he turns this season around? Fired. Between the PAC-12 last year and the B1G this year, he has won two of his last nine conference games. They're likely going to lose to ND, so unless he wins three of the remaining five conference games they won't be bowl eligible. At Maryland is kind of a big game for them this week. While Maryland has been a mess, they are talented and USC has to fly cross country to play them.

Better yet? Scroll to the 1:00:45 mark, when Coach is asked about West Coast travel and does IU have to adjust what would normally be a Thursday arrival for a Saturday game. Cig: "No, no, no, no. We ain't doing that guys. We're gonna get there as late as possible. Okay? We're gonna wake up. We're gonna play the game and we're gonna come back. That's what we do. We don't compare favorably to a lot of the schools we recruit against. It would help if we actually had some kind of system and recruited guys who were fits for it.
