It's kind of funny that a lot of posts say we need a mix of good 4 year players, that are not good enough to go to the NBA early, but then freshmen are doubted/criticized when they are not real strong players 3/4 of the way into their freshman year.

The panic-stricken responses in this thread in light of a recruit (gasp!) visiting a school in his top 3 are what two decades of mediocrity/irrelevancy have done to this fanbase.

Lmao why is everyone freaking out? Romeo is going to a game where they will get smoked. What is DG going to tell him? Imagine this half full gym with us in getting smoked. I mean seriously this is quite possibly the best thing that could happen. It’s a Saturday game, they will get smoked, and the environment is worse than his high school games. It will be ok. Tell me how I'm misinterpreting this: Florida has started to play well again. A game at Vandy's gym featuring a Florida comfortable win played in... A less than full arena in front of... A fanbase that does not know or especially care who Romeo Langford is...during A game where Romeo either sits behind the bench under the backboard and below floor level near Drew or sits... A million miles away on the sideline away from the team and below floor level Can only help IU's chances. I hope Shittu attends the game on crutches.

Maybe the whole family is going because the whole family needs to be sold on Vandy. Maybe only Romeo came with his trainer to IU because not everyone needed to be sold.

Before Romeo announced a top 3 Tim and Romeo both said in interviews that they would wait until spring to make a decision....[emoji736] After he announced a top 3 Romeo and Tim have said in interviews that Romeo would like to make it to IU and Vandy to catch a game or practice [emoji736]on the IU visit and [emoji736] on the the vandy visit Saturday. They said they probably won’t make it back to Kansas for a game [emoji736] So according to the families timeline (the only one that matters) they have followed it to a T. People will take away from the information in their own way but the family has told everyone what the plan has been. So for an overview a top uncommitted top 5 player who has cut his list to 3 is still being heavily recruited by all 3 (shocking) and it seems to me by all the information I have gathered through various outlets Romeo is still gathering information on all 3 of HIS finalist. There's not really anything to say we're not getting him (or to say we are, to be fair). Kansas was never going to just give up and the Langfords were still going to visit Vandy. Nothing has changed.

Keenan Evans is a stud. Took over the second half. Texas Tech plays hard and they do not turn it over. Just a friendly reminder kids can get better over their 4 years in college. Oh people are singing like canaries in New Albany, but like I said a couple weeks ago, anyone claiming to know is hedging their bets from what I've gathered. This whole thing has definitely spread across the state. But I believe it's rumor mixed with optimism which started a blaze across the state. In NA, it's 15-18 year olds gossiping and getting info to parents. In Carmel, it's a basketball guy who claims to have a connection to Jim Shannon going back to his days at Anderson. (I don't think Jim Shannon knows, because I don't think Romeo knows) In Indianapolis, it's my Uncle who only runs around with pro-IU boosters who are told pro-IU rumors. In Seymour, it's another Uncle who does have basketball connections back to his HS days- but again... It's Adidas reps in Indy pushing an agenda. In Rushville, it's my Grandpa who thinks Romeo is going to IU because thats the "feeling at church." I guess my point is, it does "feel" like IU in the state but what it is in the Langford home I fully admit I do not know- and haven't found someone I "feel" does.

I don’t think there is anything funnier than watching the insane flying off the rails reactions to any recruit news. The Langford’s have said all along that they want to get to Vandy, but couldn’t make it to Kansas. We’re coming in to the last part of the recruiting process so of course this is happening. They are making the trip to Vandy and self is making the trip since the Langford’s can’t. Does not change my confidence in our chances at all Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

If Archie had any serious concerns that we were out of the Langford running I'd expect to see him continuing to extend offers. Isn't Vandy still chasing rainbows and they're already oversigned? I don't know if we get Romeo or not, but I think IU is still very much in it and I wasn't that confident a month ago. And if we don't get Romeo, so be it. I think we'll still have a pretty darn good team next year regardless.

I subscribe to the belief you need a combination of strong upperclassmen and talented freshmen. A perfect example of starting this would be a talented freshmen (Langford) and developing underclassmen (Durham, Anderson). Langford would get the lion's share of the minutes while Durham and Anderson would be brought along slowly. This is what we need to be consistently challenging for banners.
