Fixing the o line in 2018  I am sure was a great solace to his shoulder that caused him to miss 2017.  And didn’t he get his kidney jacked up.

I understand what you're saying, but Ballard fixed it as soon as he could. Only thing I was referencing. He quit when he had a top 3-5 line in the NFL.

Yeah but that doesn’t heal his body.  That doesn’t make him stop wondering if he’s going to be able to play with his grandkids. And yeah it was better for a year there’s no guarantee it would stay like that.

Ehh.... about as close one as you could have. 2 1st rders and 1 2nd rd.

But yeah, either way, regardless of Luck's body, the OL had been more than fixed. Grigson is to blame for Luck's body, well, and Luck.

I wasn’t blaming Ballard blaming the organization.  Ballard clearly sucks so not sure why there is a such a knee jerk reaction to defend him.

There wasn't. lol

I literally quoted you saying "I understand what you're saying", again, I understand what you're saying and agree with you

It would have made more sense for Luck to peace out the year prior though.

In 2015, he got completely beaten and bludgeoned with a labrum injury, partial abdominal tear and a lacerated kidney. During the offseason in 2016, he separated his AC joint snowboarding in Colorado. The snowboarding injury didn't affect the labrum but did further destabilize that entire region of his body. He has since spoke to the public that he had what he calls a "deep, deep, deep, deep, DEEP" code within himself to never cede to pain, and especially to not discuss it. At some point, Luck has some blame here and his trip to Holland was basically the beginning of the end of his career. Luck never fully opened up about his mental health during all of it and the organization probably just took Luck for his word.

Bottomline, had the organization paid better attention and been more in tune with Luck, we might still be seeing him on the gridiron.

I also am just not a fan of the timing. Him being done with football should have been decided before the draft.

I'll never forgive him for what he did. Ever.

Incoming: Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Deion Sanders

Dude has been talking like he’s leaving college for months. Most overrated college coach ever

And in regards to Luck having spent a lot of time dwelling on mortality lately. I will never hold it against somebody who chooses to make their health a priority regardless of timing.

Did you listen to the Keefer podcast. Fascinating and is consistent with your post

The organization is stuck right now until QB1 gets fixed. The biggest gripe I have with Ballard is why didn't you draft a quarterback when you signed Phillip Rivers? Did you think that he was a long term solution? Jalen Hurts was picked in the same round as Pittman that draft. I expect Ballard, Shane, and Richardson are all out after next year and it's a complete rebuild. In that way I get why you stick with him for a year.

I'm glad someone else brought this up! I have said that since it happened, I flat-out could not believe we signed Rivers and in truth, I think it was because our dumbass owner wouldn't keep his mouth shut with "winning multiple SBs in the next decade"... I don't think Irsay wanted a "rebuild" post Luck, which is EXACTLY what should have happened. Grigson left us in ruins, Ballard had found a way to get us a Top 5 OL in no time and fixed the interior DL issues with Buckner.

Truthfully, I think Ballard has been given so much lease because Irsay has stepped in so much (an opinion, and a guess) and his decisions have backfired. For example, sign Rivers and move on from Wentz. We also never should have moved on from Wentz's 27TD 7INT season, either. You stick with Wentz and find his replacement, you don't move on to Matt Ryan lol

If Rivers, Matt Ryan decisions were truly 100% Ballard's choice, especially when we could have had Baker Mayfield during all that..... jesus, why does he still have a job? Buuuut, if the owner has actually intruded as much as alleged, yeah I definitely understand extending Ballard's lease.

I was fine with signing Rivers at the time. We were still in kind of in a little bit of a win now window. Just have a contingency plan afterwards. Jacob Eason is not a contingency plan lol.

We were not in a win-now mode, IMO.

Grigson had left that roster in ruins.

I did yes. It's where I learned a lot about his mental health.
