Uspshoosier Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Sumlin's been fired. #BrohmtoaTmTexas A&M has fired Kevin Sumlin. Aggies owes him a $10.4 million buyout under the terms of his contact, which is to be paid in the next 60 days and isn't reduced if he takes another coaching job.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
Hoosierfan2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Too bad we can't fire Allen and get one of these coaches about to be on the market. Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Michigan quarterback Wilton Speight announced on Instagram on Sunday evening that he will pursue his fifth year of eligibility at another program. The Richmond (VA) native posted the following message: "Thank you, Michigan. These past 4 years have been nothing short of spectacular. Enrolling in January of 2014 as a kid from Virginia i didn’t know what to expect. Four years later i leave a Michigan Man. The amazing memories with my teammates, playing under the best coaches in America, and enjoying everything that this wonderful university and town have to offer- what a ride. To the fans that stuck with us through thick and thin— thank you. To Coach Hoke for giving a kid with no offers a chance— thank you. To Coach Harbaugh for coming in and making me a better man and a better quarterback. For understanding this decision of mine and always having my back no matter what— thank you. I don’t know where next will be, and I’ll use these next four weeks to figure that out. i’m excited to keep pursuing my dreams in a new jersey, but will forever root for the boys wearing the winged helmet. Go blue!" Speight was pivotal in leading Michigan to the verge of the College Football Playoff in 2016, winning nine games while finishing second in the Big Ten in QBR rating. mamasa 1 Quote

Hovadipo Posted November 27, 2017 Author Posted November 27, 2017 People want Glass gone, yet UT just hired a wildly unimpressive coach that no one likes working with that also (allegedly) knew about the Sandusky scandal and didn’t say anything, but then said “mmmmm, just kidding” a few hours later after their fanbase revolted. Yeah...we could be doing worse. Would love to know what kind of “process” UT used to land on a guy like Schiano. Screams desperation hire, but why would they be desperate at this point? Based on what I saw of him this year, they need to take a swing at Jeff Brohm. The guy’s gonna be a star, and soon. Get him while you can. Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Lot of chatter this a.m. that the UTenn job is Jeff Brohm's if he wants it. Wouldn't that be a kick to the cajones for PUke if he took it? ThompsonHoosier and mamasa 2 Quote

Oh that would be glorious; especially after hearing PU fans say IU would never win another Bucket game in the Brohm era...I guess that means they would technically be right? Kevin Sumlin, who played for the Toiletmakers, could very easily slide right into that position. He would worry me more than Brohm. Quote

LamarCheeks Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 According to some fellow named Clay Travis, who covers Tennessee, the Vols offered Brohm the job and he accepted. But when the AD went to the chancellor to sign off on it, she wouldn't. So the AD went back to Brohm with a lesser offer and Brohm said no. I don't know who Clay Travis is, or what his credentials are, I just thought this was interesting. If Brohm leaves PU, he owes them $5 million. I'm guessing he wanted UT to pick that up and they wouldn't? Quote

They have to report that it's false. It'd kill PU recruiting if not. Either way... I'll be shocked if he coaches 3 years at Purdue. Sent from my SM-G950U using BtownBanners mobile app 8bucks 1 Quote

If he said no to Tennessee, there are only a handful of jobs that are better out there Quote
