I cannot imagine they'd exclude the SEC, either.

But if Georgia loses -- Texas would have a helluva argument against 'Bama.

Good argument, but that is meaningless. The NCAA is a wholly owned subsidiary of SEC football. The commitee will do their duty and install a SEC team no matter what.

They would more likely put in 2 $EC teams if Bama wins and leave out an undefeated team than exclude the $EC

I remember many now (losing track of time meaning more than several years ago) that SMU received the death penalty in football.  At 10-2 that is proof there is always hope…in the American Athletic Conference.

That was about 40 years ago

Jogging my memory…After looking it up February, 1987.  I also thought about 40 years ago. Closer to 37 years.  Coach Ron Meyer and Bobby Collins along with Eric Dickerson and winning SMU was pretty big in earlier and mid 1980’s.  I think what they did was peanuts compared to what is now legalized today.

SMU was blatant about it. All anyone else learned from that was to be more discreet. Didn't change the 'what' just the 'how.' See Alabama since forever.

Just have to watch the 30 for 30 and see how bad they and all the other SWC teams cheated

With how Texas looked today, there shouldn’t be a world where they’re out and Bama are in.

if Bama wins and FSU wins, as crazy as it sounds, there shouldn’t be an SEC team in

A 12-1 SEC champion Alabama with the best win in college football this season definitely should be in. FSU’s best win this year was a week 1 win against the 3rd best SEC west school.

Alabama wins which means they'll probably put both Alabama and Georgia in the playoff, leaving out 1 undefeated team.

Unless Michigan and FSU both lose, I don't see how Georgia gets in.

'Dawgs lost their conference title game. One-loss Texas won theirs -- and has a win over 'Bama.

Maybe so, but if that happens, I really, really, want to hear them justify Bama in and Texas out. If you do that, you’re saying that Texas going into Tuscaloosa and beating them comfortably was literally meaningless. And I get the argument for Georgia over FSU with the Travis injury, but at some point winning has to matter and dumping an undefeated Power conference champion for a 1-loss non-champion, I’m not down with that. For me, today was Georgia’s 1st playoff game and they were eliminated.
Personally, I think there would be a better argument for no SEC team than for 2.

That was TIC but I really wouldn't be surprised if it actually happened.
