Big Ten 11-5 during bowl season, SEC 4-10. That is the beginning and end of the argument. 
The narrative about the SEC being so deep is born from mid-tier teams beating the top-tier teams during the season. The thing is, that only carries weight if the top-tier teams are actually good…and it turns out they weren’t.
