AKHoosier Posted Monday at 06:24 PM Posted Monday at 06:24 PM Gotta love Texas Tech's PR machine trying to get out ahead of this with the headlines of him entering rehab for gambling addiction AFTER he's gotten caught by the NCAA. He should never play in college again. skhoosier2 and Pagoda 2 Quote

This not being an immediate ban from the sport is quite interesting to me. Suppose that's the result of things not being a professional league. Hovadipo 1 Quote

I would think even the NCAA could win that one in court. Home Jersey, skhoosier2 and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote

I wonder if (and expect) that his NIL deals have a termination with cause provision. And that means that TTech is likely to be without a quarterback, but their money will be refunded. Not surprisingly, it sounds like there are Loss of Eligibility/Good Standing provisions in NIL deals. Not sure if there are claw backs, but at the least if he is declared ineligible at that point no more payments are owed. And on the rev share part of his contract, it's even more likely he's toast there. And the last complication for Brendan -- Cincy is suing him for a $1M buyout he hasn't paid them related to his transfer to TTU. What a mess. skhoosier2 and go iu bb 2 Quote
skhoosier2 Posted Monday at 07:28 PM Posted Monday at 07:28 PM Many many online clammoring for IU to have some sort of punishment for Sorsby as well. If you had no knowledge of it in 2022 and he wasn't playing, what could IUFB be liable for? Coach and player both gone. Quote

That said, I don’t know the answer to your question. Hammering IU for something so innocuous seems unlikely. AZ Hoosier, Josh, skhoosier2 and 1 other 4 Quote

Home Jersey Posted Monday at 08:31 PM Posted Monday at 08:31 PM Sorsby was apparently live betting balls or strikes at Red games at $2.50 or less per pitch. He'd have bet on Lithuanian field hockey if he could've. Pagoda and kreigh8 1 1 Quote
