Popular Post rebelhoosier848891 Posted November 13, 2017 Popular Post Posted November 13, 2017 Well done --Hoosier Nation! We did what we always do--discuss, analyze, gripe, moan, dream, and predict. In the end--some of us predicted wrong and some of us predicted right. But that's part of the fun and what this site is for. This one did not go our way. Maybe we should have known it when we got the Phinisee commit--maybe we should have known the hometown pull was just too strong to overcome as we got involved late in the game. But hey--at least we were in the conversation! That's a lot better than a lot of other good teams---Hi Purdue! As for me--I have already moved on. I want the players who believe in Archie's vision and who want to be at IU! Wish it would have been DG but --on to the next! Let's put the full court press on for Romeo. There's still time to try to get him thinking IU! We should not give up on Romeo just because we're down or even if we truly are behind in his recruitment--because as long as he hasn't committed--we still have a chance!Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners thebigweave, CR3AMnCR1MS0N, WayneFleekHoosier and 5 others 8 Quote
Bailey7878 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Welcome to the party. I know you think I don't know anything; which is fine; but I'm telling you...Phinisee is terrific. Why isn't he ranked a lot higher Then? What am I missing.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Quote

Haha nah man I don't think that about you, we're just on opposite sides of the spectrum when it comes to the football team's offense this year. I agree with a lot more of your posts on here than I disagree with, honestly. Quote
woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 You've gone from DBM hater #1 to DBM reincarnate. Relax. Jerry's guessing and trying to get some points. Archie has time to keep recruiting Romeo.I was thinking the exact same thing Sent from my SM-G930V using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Ramey, maybe Tyger Campbell, Simons, maybe Shittu, grad guys, first semester transfers we will have more guys than 4 even if we dont get Romeo. These first 2 games have only solidified my opinions of that. We could see a few transfers not just one or 2 after this year. I would take Campbell in heart beat just to tick off little brother. woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 What the hell has Drew done to warrant nabbing three top ten players in his second recruiting class. Vanderbilt went 19-16 last year.He hasn't yet. He nabbed 1 so far. RelaxSent from my SM-G930V using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

In my haste I misread that as Darius (but my opinion of JM still stands). Quote
woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 I don't know, those expectations might come from one of the largest fan bases, some of the best facilities, a school that's on national tv as much as anyone, etc., etc. Drew is at Vanderbilt, not exactly the same thing. And so far Drew has only landed the hometown kid. Sent from my SM-G930V using BtownBanners mobile app BGleas 1 Quote

Not sure why that is viewed as a detriment, but any kid ranked in the top 15 at his position is terrific. 4) Don't put too much stock in rankings. thebigweave and Hoosierfan2017 2 Quote

If Drew thinks he can build his program with one and dones, best of luck to him. I don't think that needs to be a focus for Archie right now. CR3AMnCR1MS0N, cleeter, Ranger78 and 2 others 5 Quote

pumpfake Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Well, time to concentrate on OUR team and players and then worry about 2019. I'm definitely disappointed and not confident about Langford, but what really bugs me is that we whiffed on 5* recruits while even Illinois has one in the bag. Damnit! Iugradman 1 Quote

And that one 5 star Illinois has in the bag is their only signee and led to them burning bridges with the best basketball HS in Chicago. I wouldn't trade our recruiting class for one low 5 star. woodenshoemanHoosierfan and Iugradman 2 Quote
coonhounds Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Man i was worried this was going to be a melt down but everyone seems to be taking it really well. I really dont think this is to big of deal i am more concerned with developing the players we have. Most time i get my hopes up about a recruit they end up disappointing me when they are here anyhow. pumpfake Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Re-confirmation of things I thought I knew, but apparently forgot: - Message board insiders are as reliable as a $2 watch. - 17 year old basketball players make some illogical (to us) decisions - HH and other rally's never seem to sway recruits. Next time let's cheer for the players who've verballed, not prim donnas that have often already decided on another school. Quote
