I agree. Everything I have been told since Hoosier Hysteria has been were getting both Romeo & Darius. The staff sold those two that weekend. Then he almost committed to us a day or two later. His dad has said he has known for a couple of weeks. Peegs guys keep getting calls to come down for interviews. Now his AAU coaches are telling people he is IU bound. His HS coaches have told people he is IU bound. We just need him to record a video saying "I'm Darius Garland and I'm a Hoosier" 

So is the information from his coaches to Peegs guys pretty reliable or just some poster over there

It a different poster just saying what he's heard like we all do. But he is close to the Brentwood staff and has had some tidbits all summer long about Garland.

Jonah Jordan made a Vandy pick for Garland this morning. He is 18 of 20 with average of 30 days correct. Sorry if posted haven't been following much this morning.

Mr. Garland said the announcement would be Friday, or Monday. They were either going to announce on ESPN, or Facebook Live. They could go with FB pretty much any time they choose, but working out a slot on ESPN is a different story. Perhaps they do it on ESPN3? My gut tells me he will announce tomorrow, unless they work out a slot with ESPN for Monday. 

 

If if he were picking Vandy, my gut tells me it would happen at the Pep Rally at his HS. Digesting all of the info over the past few weeks leads me to believe, without a doubt, IT'S INDIANA

FWIW he does have Memphis connections. Seems everyone down there thinks it's Vandy tho so don't put to much into it.

I feel like it's important we stay cautious with the whole insider knowledge because as the Winston Garland has said, the only people who know of his commitment is family. So while AAU coaches may have a good idea, it's hard to say they know for sure.

I personally believe it is too close to call and most are just making a guess based off being the hometown team. And their insiders claim it has been a done deal so if they have been listening to those guys since he is in that area it makes sense. Message board optimism is different. Gun to my head though it is IU. I just hope he announces soon. This is giving me a headache.

I just believe from what I have been told, read and seen on here that he is ours. IMO IU kills the pros vs cons thing and it sounds like that meant a lot to them in regards to his decision. Of course what we see as pros may be a con to them. No way of telling. Just think Archie has done enough to pull it off. Let's hope so at least.

I'm with you as iu totally kills the pro vs cons. Some seem to read way to much into to these crystal ball predictions imo.

Most of the posters on every board seem to agree on one thing. The Hometown appeal is the one thing Vandy has going for them. There might be another huge attraction for Vandy. I haven't seen it posted, or for that matter even discussed.

Bryce Drew and Winston Garland both had careers in the NBA. WG played for several years. They were in the league together for I believe 5 years. They were both Point Guards as well. I don't know if they knew each other back in the early 90's or not, but one thing is for sure. They had plenty to talk about and reminisce during their conversations in the recruitment of DG.

Does anyone think the NBA experience of CBD is playing into the decision? Thoughts?

Believe me. I was like this with Crean his last four years. Anything that could go wrong, would go wrong. Archie and staff have completely changed that mindset. These guys are for real

The best thing about this whole recruitment is that if Crean we’re still coach, DG would already be a Vanderbilt signee.  What Archie has been able to do in his short amount of time at Indiana is amazing.  Win or lose on DG, we are going to be a force in the future.

Also, DG will be wearing the candy stripes.  No doubt in my mind.
