Alford Bailey Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 If we are excusing losses due to an injury what does everyone think the media will say about the job Crean did when Blackmon went out? Let's be real. The man did his best coaching job when one of his top players went down. That doesn't happen often. How many teams improve when the 2nd leading scorer goes down? He deserves credit. Yea, if we win the conference I think Crean gets it. coonhounds 1 Quote
jmsgws Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 I don't see Crean or Fran getting it unless their respective team wins the B1G. I think it is Gard's to lose. WayneFleekHoosier and Bobman1 2 Quote

mdn82 Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Yea, if we win the conference I think Crean gets it.Yeah if a team wins outright it would be hard to not give it to that coach. If there is a 3 way tie with Maryland, Iowa, and IU then it goes to either Fran or Gard. Fran is in the midst of his typical February however. I don't see him getting it. I think it will either be Crean or Gard. Quote

There's 4-5 coaches who wouldn't vote for Crean if IU won the B1G by a few games. Edit: Didn't Bo win it in 2012-2013 when IU won the B1G outright? MadAboutIndiana Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Crean was robbed that year. Worse was Victor not winning player of the year. If not Vic, should've been Cody. Not Trey Burke.... HoosiersLoveBanners 1 Quote

Bobman1 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Indiana wins = Crean Iowa wins = Fran We tie = Gard Just my opinion VO5, Naturalhoosier and Walking Boot of Doom 3 Quote

Cody was pretty much the same guy his soph year. He came into the year with a ton of hype and did not live up to it. Had a very good year but i Vic was far more valuable to us KingPG21 1 Quote

We saw what we were without really good Victor the year before. Still a good team. Without Cody... Indiana wouldn't have made the tourney Vic's Sophomore year. Quote

Your comparison ignores his incredible advancement between those years Look I love Cody and they were 1a and 1b which probably split the vote for us. Quote

Vic's improvement was half a season while Cody was great all season. Cody was with ease the best player on the team arguably a Top 15 player of all time in IU history. Cody had a bigger impact on the team. Not by a ton but enough. But because of Vic's improvement the media catered more to him. The media put down Cody any chance they could. Quote
colonel06 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 I think there are really only 3 candidates for the award. Gard, Crean and McCaffrey. Any thoughts on who should win it? I don't like Cream at all... from a coaching standpoint... but he definitely deserves some recognition for this year. Gard obviously deserves a ton for how Wisconsin has bounced back. McCaffrey I think would be third in the race. Iowa has fallen back to Earth recently.i think it will be whose team finishes out the best. Could be Coach Crean, could even be Tom Izzo! Quote
Brass Cannon Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Creans job in the second half was masterful today. The getting funny with Niego and Z burned him but he adjusted fwgreenway, HoosierAloha and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote
