Does he though? Kansas has already spent their 5 star allotment.

Yes? You wouldn’t take Romeo Langford over what they have if your ultimate goal is a NCAA title? What does he mean to Vandy that they would pay more than Kansas? Come on man. Be honest with yourself here. There is zero expectations at Vandy. Stallings made a career out of it. Destination Job (Kansas) v stepping stone that already has 2 five stars, a four star, some transfers... it’s not even close in a free agency if we are being honest with ourselves and this is the way it is. Then you add all of the benefits of Kansas v Vandy from a national exposure standpoint. But hey, what do I know about business.

Kansas would take Romeo at the drop of a hat. Just as any program would

I’ve felt for awhile that Romeo especially Garland is trying to tell us he’s going to Vandy. I think the publicity while on his journey to catch Damon is greatly enhanced by hopeful Indiana fans. The Langford camp knows this and that’s why it’s more important to wait on committing out of state. If Romeo announced for Vandy early on, most of Indiana wouldn’t care about Romeo. He is building his brand .
The timing of his announcement, the family in Atlanta, Archie not watching Romeo’s recent games, all point in that direction. Sorry folks we are getting the shaft again.

Yep

Maybe brand building isn’t the best way to describe it. My point is that Romeo is getting way more hype which keeps his name buzzing around the Nation helped by crazy Indiana fans like ourselves.  If he committed out of state, IU fans and local IU media wouldn’t be staying around 2hrs after a high school game to see him.

I agree

I think it is to early to panic lets see if Romeo visits iu again. Imo if he visits again we are at least seriously being considered. If romeo does not make another visit then i think the writing is on the wall and he going to vandy. If someone disagrees with this that is fine as i am not claiming to know anything so dont get all up in arms lol

That’s cool and all if they are shady or dirty. Does anyone not think Kansas would not outbid them if this were a bidding war? He means more to Kansas than Vandy. I just wish people would think about what they typing before they type them.

Vandy needs him much more than Kansas does.

Yeah but if you are already loaded up on something reduces your desire to pay. I would love another car. But because I have one I won't spend the money

The other thing is weren't people saying how peegs was saying in chat how good things looked for iu and romeo. Something like he wasn't ready to call it but felt very good. And then you get the Romeo to vandy is basically a given posts. Man somebody is going to be way off.

That's not my theory. My theory is he is waiting to make it look like it was a REALLY tough decision and he would have loved to play at Indiana BUT he just loves Bryce Drew and Garland and how they plan to use him. It was so hard, he had to think about his decision all season long. optics.

Pretty much what Wilkes did as well.

What I've been saying all along.  You'll see that at MCD game announcement.   I love Indiana, I love all the fans and the support they've given me all the years, etc etc.  BUT I have to do what's best for me and I think it's best for me to play with my 2 fellow burger boys, a wink a Garland and Sittu, which is at Vandy.  And he'll say what a tough decision this was and how IU will always have a place in his heart etc which isn't true as this recruitment was over in the fall.  But that's about what you'll hear verbatim.

Not if Kansas wants to be a ultimate threat to win the national title next year. Without Romeo they are in the discussion with Romeo Kansas and duke are probably the favorites. Without Romeo Vandy is probably a borderline tourney team and with Romeo they are probably a tournament team that could get to the second weekend. I would say he is much more important to Kansas in terms of winning a national title

I guess I’m gonna be dumb and respond to you. What about that picture says Romeo to Vanderbilt?

You don't see?  His jacket has black on it and neither Indiana nor Kansas wear black.  It's also Nike brand, IU/KU are Adidas.  It's all right there.

Leverage, options, lots of reasons to keep Kansas around.

He was all but going to Louisville, the poster child for cheating. He then pivots to vandy who is in the sec, has no history of success and is landing top players out of nowhere, one of which is Shittu who’s recruitment is worthy of an investigation on its own. There is plenty of smoke here to what business decision means. Building intrigue, a brand but also setting themselves up financially, maybe now, maybe in the future or both.

Latest article on the fbi investigation suggests 50 schools are involved in illegal recruiting and that no players are free.

Add it up
