Some of you guys that ignore that recruiting is shady is beyond baffling to me. It actually requires a lack of logic and reasoning.

All the evidence is right in front of your faces. Has been. Now even with specifics from the FBI. Heck, Chris Webber got 200k YEARS ago. It's how these things work. The sooner you accept that, the sooner recruiting will start making some sense to you.

The families accepting the money/gifts aren't doing anything wrong imo. I don't view the families badly. I'd probably do the same thing. If my kid was good enough that some University wanted to "employ" him for 100k plus gifts and education. I'd accept it. It's a broken system that has been skirted around for decades.

I'd like to see what Trey Lyles got, Goodluck Okonbonoh, Billy Preston and countless others that handled things more discreetly. Heck, it looks like every recruit at Arizona gets paid. Lol.

That's not my theory. My theory is he is waiting to make it look like it was a REALLY tough decision and he would have loved to play at Indiana BUT he just loves Bryce Drew and Garland and how they plan to use him. It was so hard, he had to think about his decision all season long. optics.

Yeah, but everyone wants to act like it only happens with a few top 10 kids. Lol. Brian Bowen is the example that says you don't even have to be a top, top player.

Kris Wilkes committed to UCLA in November. The decision was known for weeks before that.

I feel the only way IU wins this recruitment is if the FBI releases the names of the 3 dozen D1 schools they have caught cheating that was reported last week and Vandy & Kansas are on that list. We all know Kansas will be but the big question will be if they even monitored a school like Vandy

I have zero doubt in my mind that Vanderbilt is doing shady stuff to land these recruits. Romeo going to Vandy would only solidify that belief. It wouldn't even be about sour grapes if we miss on Romeo. There's too much smoke for there not to be any fire. 

If being a total doofus during games were an NCAA violation, we'd have been on probation for the past nine years.

Kind of a bush league thing to do imo. String fans along for no reason. He obviously does not want to be a legend and if he's honestly impressed with the dog and pony show at vandy they can have him.

The problem is, they want to get out of Indiana. Wilkes went to LA. Romeo will go to Nashville. A lot of kids don't want to live in a town like Bloomington if they don't have to.

Has nothing to do with where they will live. Zero! Think about it.

That's what Cheating UCLA will tell you. Look at what is really happening.

Ok....my point was/is, it was never going to be IU. Unless IU offered what he wanted. Crean didn't offer as much as UCLA, UK, Louisville etc.

No one questions a UCLA over Indiana decision. It doesn't look shady, although it is.

Now Vandy over Indiana. That one takes some 'splainin. It been an exercise in building the narrative.

This is about Romeo Langford. I don’t think he is dirty. That is where the disconnect is. It isn’t about the thousands of other players and their AAU programs.

No I don’t. Not every day. He is a quiet unassuming kid that is consistent to his approach and all people that interact with him say this hasn’t got to his head. Let’s put it this way. If you were a high school kid, that happen to have this hoopla, stay at school until game time, do interviews every game, and then sign autographs for at least an hour after that is done. You aren’t getting home until like 11 at least on gameday. You don’t think that would be annoying for a high school kid? If you don’t, we will have to agree to disagree because he essentially can’t have a life during the season. Hope his girl is understanding at 17.

We won't agree here. I don't think the Langfords are bad people or dirty. At all. Do I think they will accept the "going rate" for players of his likeness? Yes I do. And I don't blame them for it.
