Can't say Romeo including Vandy inspires confidence in Garland to IU.

Any chance Romeo doesn't know his decision yet?

That was my thought as well. I think it's possible that Romeo doesn't know. A coaching staff doesn't even know yet somebody said either on here or another board. Let's hope.

Simplest answer is usually the best. They are making individual decisions like has been reported for awhile by most outlets including both fathers. From listening to and seeing Tim Langford’s articles over the past weeks I️ don’t see them worried where any other player is going. They are going to make the best decision for Romeo to get to the NBA. My opinion is they are individually making decisions. In my opinion if Vandy lands Shittu and Garland, Romeo will still go to IU. If they all went to Vandy one thing I’m sure Garlands inner circle have talked about is that there could be a possibility that after year one Romeo and Shittu will more than likely be out of the program and there is a possibility he would be there longer.

Yes I️ know, I️ agree with you. My comment was more in response to Romeo is waiting for Garland and will commit shortly after Garland does.

I hope this we get these kids if only to thin out the hoard of trolls on this board. My God this place has gone downhill lately.

If we are being honest I don’t think most people would notice the “trolls” if you didn’t call out and try to argue with every single one.

We went from a summer of EXTREME enthusiasm, optimism, and most people being on the same page. We landed most of our targeted recruits.

Turn to, one of most embarrassing losses ever, a surprised and again frustrated fanbase, and 2 superstar recruits that are just within our grasp, that we may or may not get.

Not everyone agrees. The fanbase is generally split by optimism and pessimism. Both sides have good reason for their position.

Be respectful of others and enjoy one another, because above all else we all want the same thing. For the Hoosiers to be good again. At least we can enjoy the ride together regardless of if we ever get there.

I’m pretty sure Romeo, if he had to commit right now would choose IU. I think the biggest factor for him is wanting to see how Archie does. As long as we can improve throughout the year and look reasonably solid by the end of the year, I think we get him. Similar to how Jordan Tucker knew he was going to come to IU, but waited the whole year to see if Crean would be fired.

Bingo.  Isn't this an IU basketball forum where we're supposed to have a civil discussion on all things IU basketball?  I'm taking a lot of flack not for name calling or anything like that but simply for voicing my opinion.  Am I supposed to lie and say I think Garland is coming when I don't?

I guess nobody else is irritated by profiles with single or low double digit posts suddenly chiming in with completely uninformed negative opinions about recruiting and the program in general. I at least provide tidbits of info I pick up elsewhere.

Yes, it's annoying but they aren't any more uniformed than the optimists that continue to make predictions based on gut instincts.

The pessimists are just as likely annoyed by the optimists posting gut feelings.

Welcome to message boards. These recruiting threads in particular bring out all the craziness and I'm usually involved in all of them. Haha.

As a MOD, I'm keeping an eye out for name calling and inappropriate posting but being an optimist or a pessimist isn't something we should moderate.

No one is asking you to lie. But taking the time to back up statements like "Vandy is going to hit a trifecta" or "Vandy already has two in the bag" would make you look less like a troll. Hoosier Guy at least takes the time to back up his eternal recruiting optimism with some degree of reasoning.

Well, people who are knowledgable say IU is in a great position with Romeo and the leader in his recruitment. That is not optimism, that is a fact. People who say he is going somewhere else are being pessimistic trolls.

It is what you make of it. Very little "facts" in recruiting. Just depends on what you want to hear. His "in the bag" comment could be driven by the swarm of CB picks to Vandy for Garland and Shittu.

It's not fact either though but it's a source to drive his opinion, the same way optimistic folks are finding "facts" to support their views.

Thank you.  It's the fact that he's announcing in his home gym, the fact that the home school usually wins,  the fact that Romeo has Vandy in his top 3 and I'm convinced that Romeo knows where he's going, the overwhelming crystal ball picks for Vandy, the fact that nearly every insider out there believes Sittu is going to Vandy, and also what a couple guys who live in Nashville and have given me good info before have told me.

Fair. In the future put these "facts" in your posts and less people will be mad at you. [emoji106]

C'mon Wayne. "could be driven by". I shouldn't have to guess. It's a message board. Explain yourself. There's unlimited characters. Surely you can understand why some of us are pulling the "troll" card when he rolls into town in the last week and treats us to a barrage of negative statements with little to no explanations or reasoning behind them.
