Bailey7878 Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Just spoke with a guy whose son plays at Warren Central and knows Aaron Henry pretty well and said that Archie met with him 2 weeks ago and word is that he's decommitting from MSU in the midst of all that is going on and will be coming to Bloomington next year. He said the writing isn't completely on the wall but that speaks volume about what Archie thinks our chances are to land Romeo...if true of course. Looks like Archie has a solid backup plan in place.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBannersIsn't Henry an undersized 6'5 forward? Romeo is a guard last I checked so not sure how that shows wring on a wall. MS would have to let him out anyway and so far the bball program has not been implicated. So not really sure what his grounds would even be asking for a release.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Just curious are you locking in with Vandy then? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appYes. Here is my honest belief. Indiana coaches "will have a final chance to sell Romeo on how he fits in the program". Will Indiana match Vandy's offer? I don't think so. But you never truly know for sure. Will Kansas? Maybe. Bailey7878 Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 You forgot a few things- drewfus is a master recruiter, coach, and the fantastic fours ugly cousin-crean still loves deflections and diet coke- garland is possibly the worst teenager ever- miss lippys car is green- romeo is definitely going to IU- romeo is definitely going to vandy-there have been 370 confirmed heart attacks on this thread [emoji2] Sent from my LG-H872 using BtownBanners mobile appDon't forget Romeo is committing after his game on ESPN or during halftime. So if Henry initiates a contact completely on his own we have to hang up the phone on him? It's meant as a serious question because I don't know the answer or the ins and outs of the NCAA rule book that would come into play in such a scenario. And I assume there's always the back door approach via high school coach, AAU coach, etc., to determine if IU is even still interested? Inquiring minds want to know. Hypothetically, My guess would be his AAU coach or High school coach lets IU’s staff know what is happening and IU’s staff would let him know if they are interested. Once he is released from LOI then IU would make contact Class of '66 Old Fart, WayneFleekHoosier and thebigweave 3 Quote

He would have to be released and that wouldn’t happen without a coaching change.Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile appKids are actually getting released more frequently without a coaching change lately. Waters got released out of his last year when JT3 was still the coach ( he was fired after) The school has every right to not release them even if there is a coaching change but that would be a bad PR move Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Uspshoosier 1 Quote

mdn82 Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 It’s not true as described, but there are surely ways to have back-channel communications with a player that’s backing out of his commitment.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appI don’t disagree with that, but it would only make sense if Izzo is getting fired. Hard to believe they would let him out of his letter of intent without stipulations. Just doesn’t happen without a coach getting fired or family emergency.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app HoosierSadaseci 1 Quote
Hoosier1984 Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 With the FBI investigation going on if the list of 50 schools is released by the time the 2018 recruits start school could we see a bunch of 2018 recruits asking out of their LOI and could be a back up plan to Romeo?Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
Bowhunter Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 I’m not saying that’s going to happen but with all the craziness at MSU, who would want to go there right now Feathery and IUBBFan1970 2 Quote

The big bad IU boogie man fanbase... gets so overblown.....the truth is that if Romeo were to have committed to Vandy during the season, he wouldn’t be hearing NEARLY as many boos as he’d be hearing crickets. The Indiana fans wouldn’t have showed up. I remember so many players who chose other schools before or during their senior campaigns... May, Lyle, Lyles, Thomas, etc. etc...... the fans just stopped caring. Dang, that's true. Ugh. He's trying to build his brand without going to IU. It's got all the signs of Darius Garland all over again. Skidmarks, scoot and Btownclouds 3 Quote
