mdn82 Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 It seems fairly short sighted to assume prep school significantly changes the recruitment. It's not like his family is moving. The same things that have put IU in a strong position are still there.I would say I am short sighted then. I don’t see him coming to IU if he goes to prep school. Just a hunch this will bring more schools than MSU and IU into this. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app HoosierAloha 1 Quote
mdn82 Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 Yep prep school would definitely change my opinion on Brooks. Watford needs to be a top priority anyway but this would solidify it. And if IU wants Watford, I think they get himIf he goes that route my opinion would change too for sure. Wayne brought up Kansas and UK. I would agree with him for sure if this happens.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Hoosier Guy 1 Quote

Jaren Jackson did the same thing and still kept his recruitment fairy local (plus Maryland and Georgetown because of his dad). Schilling and Sr are still tight. All reports indicate that Jr. likes Archie. I wouldn't worry about it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Iugradman 1 Quote
indianaranger Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 Looks like Izzo wants him in prep school that tells you all you need to know. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

Ask some of the coaches in this area or AAU guys. I am not saying he won’t come here or MSU. I am saying this will bring more people into the mix. I agree with Wayne on that. Hoosierfan2017 Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 What position does this kid play? I thought power forward but then saw him described as a Troy Williams type. In my non-expert opinion I've been down on him since he got worked by Romeo. Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 I think we are in the top 4 or 5. Mostly due to Schilling and the parental connection. Seems like Jr. likes UK and KU and glitz and glamour. Seems like Sr and mom like MSU #1, and IU next for now. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Jam 1 Quote

Kansas, UK, UCLA were already looking.Another example, Paul Scruggs went all the way to California and still came back to the Midwest. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Honestly if i was a stud recruit from Fort Wayne I'd probably go play at MSU too at this point until IU can prove it can be a winner. Plus the perks. Someone cut the crap and pop for IU! haha.We seem to have a good foundation class of talented, good kids. The question remains are they good enough to win and win big. Winning begets winning unless you are Tom Crean. Then winning begets losing and losing begets winning and so on. Popular Post AKHoosier Posted January 22, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 22, 2018 If you're considering prep school, why would you need to skip your team's game? Sorry but any way I look at this, it doesn't reflect well on Brooks. LockdownD, A.j. Nigh, thebigweave and 5 others 8 Quote

He dropped 42 and blew Brooks' team out 97-59. He dominated him. That makes me wonder if he's as good as he's ranked right now. I'm not saying he's a bad player, or even that he isn't a very good player. It's just that we're recruiting several guys at the same position in that class and I'm wondering if he's the right one to prioritize. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

I'm not pretending to b a basketball savant. It was just something that was a little concerning, imo. Seeing people in this thread talking about how he's rated on potential added to that for me. This recent prep school stuff is more troubling to me than the Romeo game anyway. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 Brooks hasn't necessarily been the main man on this year's North Side team. Lucas Kroft and Austin Boucher have both been key players and have turned in very consistent performances. Maybe struggling to share the spotlight? Just a thought. Quote
