Demo Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 Dug McDaniel, top 100 ‘22 pg from Virginia, committed to Michigan. I believe he’s the 3rd Team Takeover kid to Michigan in 3 cycles. So, you can safely call that a pipeline. Stuhoo, Stromboli, Class of '66 Old Fart and 1 other 4 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Sun Belt player of the year DeVante' Jones will withdraw from the NBA draft and enroll at Michigan for his senior season, he told ESPN. Jones was one of the most sought-after players in the NCAA transfer portal this spring. DeVante' Jones was arguably the best perimeter defender at the G League Elite Camp where he had a strong showing. Averaged 19ppg last year shooting 37% for 3 while showing terrific pace operating out of pick and roll. All-Conference caliber player in the Big Ten, conservatively. GloryDays 1 Quote
Gnet550 Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Poster it in the transfer thread as well but saw Kevin Obaner from Oral Roberts entered the portal. 6’ 8”…avg 18 and 9 whooped shooting over 40% from 3 Quote

Howard has it going on in Ann arbor. I guess it goes without saying Woody needs a good season to turn some of that recruiting momentum this way. Quote

Make the tourney, get a win there and we should be able to recruit enough to keep building. On the flip side, we miss the tourney yet again... might be too much to overcome Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Sparty lands 4-star PG Tre Holloman from Minneapolis. This one was confusing. He indicated some time back we'd offered but he never heard from the new staff after Woody was hired. But I don't ever recall seeing any evidence that Archie offered from the usual multitude of sources that race each other to get the news of an IU offer made public. Quote

Hamilton Heights is playing at a showcase event I’m going to in Jan, COVID willing. Was looking forward to seeing Bass play against Keynote George. Oh well, c’est la vie. Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 PUke lands yet another big man. Purdue has landed a commitment from 7-foot-2 Swedish big man William Berg. Berg recently cut his list to two and after taking visits to Purdue and Utah State he ultimately decided to play for Matt Painter and the Boilermakers. “My relationship with Purdue has been great and they've always shown me that they are a school that produces great big men and know how to develop them both on and off the court,” said Berg. “They develop their players both physically and basketball wise so I can really see myself calling that place home.” “The staff all really invest in their players and are always pushing them to become better. They're always there and encourage them to get better every day. They contribute to the culture really well by putting in the extra work for their players which I love.” Berg’s official visit also played a major role in this decision. “The visit was great,” he said. “I visited both schools and they were both over my expectations but Purdue was better in my opinion. I really liked hanging out with the coaches and players as well. They're a great bunch of guys and you can really see that the culture they're portraying on social media is their real culture. They're all playing for the success of the team rather than the success of themselves which I prioritized really high in my decision.” With Berg committed to the now, No.1 team in the country, he looks to come in and help the team win in any way he can. “I'm a pretty hard worker, versatile player on the court, and I think I'm going to contribute a lot to the culture of the team,'' he said. “I'm always going to give 100% on the court, helping out in any way for whatever the team needs.” IUc2016 1 Quote

What are the odds that works out for them? Quote
