HoosierAloha Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 That is way too many. 11 in two games... TW is terrible. He will be a senior here next year, still turning it over. Rant over sorry. Ps. That's why I haven't been posting this year. Well he cleaned it up from his 7 turnover 11 points off turnovers against Rutgers... Moving in the right direction? Quote

ou812dude Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Always great to get a Big10 win. Disappointed in Troy and JBJ, yeah JBJ, and that bum knee... dude really needs to step up his step! IUsafety, MikeRoberts and JaybobHoosier 3 Quote
Hovadipo Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 It's got to be what, 1.25 hours? Less? I'm not sure the route they have to take for the wind right there. Less on the way back I'm sure. You can get from Bloomington to STL in about that time in a crappy single-prop. I bet that's a nice flight in a jet regardless of wind. Quote
Popular Post BGleas Posted January 3, 2016 Popular Post Posted January 3, 2016 Just finished the game, a few quick thoughts. - Most enjoyable game to watch to this point for me - I love this freshmen class - Bryant is a beast, and OG and Morgan just make plays that winners make, and all 3 are very good passers - I don't think it's a coincidence that I enjoy watching IU more when JBJ is on the bench While I hope he's healthy, I don't wish injury on anyone, but I would love to see this team develop with JBJ on the bench (due to performance, not injury). I'm a bit perplexed that RoJo and Troy have struggled in these two games, but if we would get them going, and begin to run the team through Bryant and Yogi, with a solid group of role guys in RoJo, Troy, Hartman, OG, Max, Z and Juwan, I think we could have something. I still think we're behind MSU, Maryland, Iowa and Purdue though. 8bucks, Hoosierboy1980, Class of '66 Old Fart and 5 others 8 Quote
ashmgee Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Well he cleaned it up from his 7 turnover 11 points off turnovers against Rutgers... Moving in the right direction? I assume this is sarcasm, but I'll address it any way. Troy gets 7 turnovers in 27ish minutes. Tonight he has 4. That is terrible for a kid that thinks he is a pro. I wish he was a pro. I wouldn't have to watch him dribble into traffic with no clue what the end result will be and turn it over next year. But again that is really on crean for even allowing these kids to play so sloppy with no leash. Bruce038, HoosierAloha, Alford Bailey and 2 others 5 Quote
BGleas Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 ^^ it's amazing that he hasn't developed any semblance of a mid-range game. Quote
yogisballin Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I was happy to see that we only had 5 TO's in the 2nd half. And was able to force 9. Other than the FT's, enjoyed watching the 2nd half. Good to see OG get some more run. Really think Morgan needs more as well. Love his bball IQ ALASKA HOOSIER, JaybobHoosier and MikeRoberts 3 Quote
ashmgee Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 OG was awesome and was last game as well. That is a positive. Bryant was very good tonight as well. I hope he continues to avoid fouls. That will be a key for this team. Rojo has had two poor games. I expect him to bounce back, but am more interested in him having a good game away at this point. Yogi played passive in the first half, but had a nice second. HoosierAloha 1 Quote
ashmgee Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 It was an important win on the road for a team that may be improving. I stress may be...GO Hoosiers! Quote
Stuhoo Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Why was the defense so much better? Three freshmen. The most important of which only played six minutes against Rutgers. Huge kudos to TB and the coaching staff for dramatic defensive improvement by the big fella since the start of the season. HoosierAloha and lillurk 2 Quote
BGleas Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I'd add no JBJ. He's is absolutely awful on defense, and his mistakes defensively impact not just him, but his teammates too. Lt. John McClaine Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Troy ONLY had 4 turnovers. Nebrasketball had 9 points off those 4 TW turnovers. It's to the point where Crean has to forbid him from dribbling the ball in any full court situation. He needs to find a guard and give up the rock. He's regressed from last year in my opinion with his turnovers, which is truly amazing. Bruce038, MikeRoberts and HoosierAloha 3 Quote

With about five minutes to go in the game my son told me it was great to watch an IU game when I wasn't complaining about JBJ's defense throughout. lol Class of '66 Old Fart, Tom White, JaybobHoosier and 1 other 4 Quote
Bowhunter Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Not a great game but I will take it. Last time I enjoyed a game of ours was Creighton as well. RJ and Troy wtf? Colin needs to tighten up his defense but I like his toughness. TB is really good, just need more rebounding . More OG for sure but I like him first off the bench. We all know Troy is going to start. seanmm1971 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Just got done watching the game on DVR, great defense on shields, the obligatory yogi turnover on the baseline, great game for TB,where is troy? Not really missing JBJ, free throws! Quote

But he never will, because letting anyone take the ball up is part of the Crean Offense's strategy to speed up play and catch defenses off guard. Troy would be better if he could stop that and they could run actual offensive plays instead, but it's just not part of the offense. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote

Yogi'sBicep Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 We need to start having Bryant bring the ball up! that'll throw the defense off guard!! Let's run yogi & zeis on the blocks. Troy and TB switching at the point & Priller on the wing. Yeah? Ranger78, MemphisHoosier, ALASKA HOOSIER and 1 other 4 Quote
