Emmitt Holt Releases a Statement about Dismissal

Recommended Posts

I would be pretty upset if I was him as well. I just see it as him speaking truth

I'd be devastated. I'd also realize I did an idiotic thing that forced the hand of my coach. Be smarter, don't put yourself in that situation.

Hell I paid extra for some beer & liquor in college so I didn't have to be the one to go get it or bring it back. Maybe I was paranoid, but that paranoia also has my wrap sheet looking pretty clean.

I feel for him. He is looking around and saying "everyone else on campus, including the athletes are doing the same thing and I am the villain?" If true that he wasn't behind the wheel last year then he literally got kicked out for holding a bottle of vodka. That's a tough go and I am in the camp of he paid for the sins of our coach and other players

Players failing multiple drug tests and still play...

They don't hit other people with cars (even if it wasn't his fault), almost end another person's life, get caught for having alcohol underage and play.

He did NOT do what "most young college kids are doing." Ramming your friend with a car isn't the typical IU experience, sorry.

You missed the part about "If true that he wasn't behind the wheel last year then he literally got kicked out for holding a bottle of vodka."

Haha yeah I was actually just quoting the last sentence of his post I shouldn't have quoted the whole thing.

So, having said that, I'm sorry for that, but I'm also not!

I don't have a problem with the statement. If all he had done here was to issue a PR boilerplate apology that he wasn't serious about, then its meaningless crap. If he is seriously acknowledging his mistakes and taking personal responsibility, then its a good statement. The most important part, at this point, is whether he's seriously going to learn from his mistakes.
