Virginia was on the road @O$U last season. It's not out of the question but IU or Virginia would have to be willing to play back to back road games in the challenge. I don't see IU doing that.

Occasionally a school will play home or road games in consecutive years so that the powers that be can have different matchups. IU played away in 2010 and 2011.

UNC played away in 2012 & 2013 and played home the last two years.

Understand, IU volunteered to play consecutive road games in order to have at least one marquee home game against puke or an ACC opponent each season. That didn't workout too well. Ha

A rematch with North Carolina would be made for tv perfect.

Agree, they were in the Hall a few years ago though.

Edit: UNC will probably take a step back with their two best players graduating in Brice Johnson and Marcus Paige, they also lose a big body in Joel James. They do have a good recruiting class coming in.

I know nothing about their recruits, but I think Johnson was the real difference maker on this year's team. Subtract him and they drop-off pretty fast.

Meeks, Jackson, Berry- they're all good, but not scary. I'd like another shot at them without Paige having THE shooting half of his entire life (future included).

They have three 4* recruits a CG, SG, and C. I believe Seventh Woods has fallen off a bit because he hasn't developed his outside shot. I have no idea about the others. They will be good but probably top 20 good and not top 10 good.

Posted this about a month ago, seems to apply to this topic also.

Looking at the schedule next year it isn't too bad.  I made some basic assumptions and I think I can reverse engineer most of our schedule next year.

* They want to alternate Home and Aways setting aside years where teams play twice.  So we played @ Nebraska last year, then played them twice this year.  So next year we should play at AH.

* They don't want teams playing Home and Aways 2 years in a row.  Mean we won't play any of the same 5 teams we played this year twice.

* They want every team to play home and aways before they start repeating.

^ If all those assumptions are true our schedule will look something like this

Home Games

MSU

Penn State

Michigan

Northwestern

Wisconsin

Illinois

Rutgers

Nebraska

And then one of these:

OSU

Maryland

Purdue

Away Games

@ Maryland

@ OSU

@ Iowa

@ Purdue

@ Michigan

@ Penn State

@ Northwestern

@ Minnesota

@ MSU

@ Rutgers

Assuming we can avoid another @ MSU our away schedule isn't too difficult.  Not sure what the teams are looking like next year.  But I know Iowa is going to drop off.  Not sure about Maryland and Purdue.  OSU will be tough but they always are.

Winning out at home will be alot more challenging but that much more important though.

UNC will be pretty good again next year. Meeks, Jackson, Berry, Pinson and Hicks are returning.

2016 SG Josh Jackson of Prolific Prep (CA) - a top-5 prospect nationally - has committed to Kansas.

Kansas will have perimeter trio of Frank Mason, Devonte Graham & Josh Jackson -- w/Carlton Bragg & Landen Lucas up front. KU needed Jackson.

Sweet.

We should have several great tests in the non-con schedule.

That will really help us. Playing some better teams that early will help Crean decide our PG situation along with sort of rotation we might see down low with Byrant-Davis-Morgan-OG.

No Gavitt Game for us this year per @JonRothstein.

Had a feeling we wouldn't be a part this year; probably due to playing Kansas in Hawaii on 11/11 to start the year as much as being in the Games last year.
